  1. I have same code atm. My guess was o2 sensor. Depending on if its ba or bf it has 1 or 2 sensors. Was jus gonna replace it anyway.. BUT ford want up to 300 bucks fr em so do your shopping
  2. Its been a while just thought id update.. Still have my fault. Replaced tps with superseeded version. Tps.not at fault. Replaced throttle body unit. Still not at fault. Starting to lean towards something really weird. I dont belive it is the pedal as ut would generate a code if it was at fault when it plays up. Jus discovered something odd. If the brake pedal is depressed or the brake switch activated either at stand still or whilst driving it seems to rev and rcognise the pedal acceleration perfectly. Foot off brake pedal. Loss of throttle again. If I plant it in 5th or 6th gear cruising not trying to boost at all. and hav wide open throttle ther is easy a 1-1.5 second delay in response to the throttle body. Any ideas? Stupid or not?
  3. Hurstville/bankstown area.
  4. Well .. Im up for whatever. I think we just need to set a date and meet and who ever turns up, turns up.. Leave with a bunch or with a couple cars dnt matter. GO ahead regardless. Id like to meet a few people as itd be my first xr6t cruise!
  5. Oh okay gonna have to look into the roads thing. Pretty sure from memory ther is.one rd in nd one out but its the same road that back.tracks on itself or just heads back to the main road or something.. Not sure.. Dnt think wed have any dramas. Worst case senario.. Jus continue to bathurst! Hahahhaa! Oh cmon oldie!.. Relive that teen in you! Ahaha!.. Bu on a serious note there.. Scraping.rims or body on gutters or the parking space concrete stops... **shudder** nearly makes you cry....!!! The worst!
  6. Seems like a genuine interest in a cruise to the caves. For a day cruise. Iv been to the caves (passenger) once on a car cruise my mate organises with our group of mates. We leave late nd come home early morn. The caves are somethin else at night. No one around quite eery! But.. If the people want day cruise. Day cruise it shal be.. But in my pref to be afternoon 2pm on. But as I said if we can all come to an agreement on destination, date, time and meeting point.. Lets do it!
  7. Daytime... Ehhhhyyeaaaahhh.. Some People work thru day saturday.. Even if it was late evening like 7/8pm.. Plus less traffic which means a "better flowing" drive through the twists and turns haha!
  8. Maybe try and tee one up for say endish of nov? But it all depends on where people are comfortable driving to and from. And where they wanna go. Im still new to the forum so I dont know the ins and outs but.. Iv noticed everyone has done putty rd. gaulston gorge.. Wisemens. Roo valley. that's y im suggesting the caves. Im up for it on a saturday night.. Jus need notice for these types of things. Good month. To get intrest and organise a meet point that suits majority.
  9. Had a BOV comp with another fellow xr6T. Black. Dont know plates mine and his tint way too dark. Going through miranda past tradies. Considering its a high patrolled area. Was a bit of fun. Tidy car mate!
  10. Another good cruise is janolen caves!. Nice tight twists and turns. Good opp for photos when you reach the caves? Plenty of room to line them all up and have a perv. Jus sayin
  11. Nick I wanna see that FG take a couple corners.. Plus I like seeing you in my rear view mirror .. Even if its just on the way to work! Hahaha
  12. Is there going to be any end of year cruises or meetups in sydney at all before the year is out guys and girls? Cheers all!
  13. Iv looked at one too.. Powerbond is reputable. And yes prob worth it. My.mate has a powerbond underdrive kit on his mk2 gt... Revs pick up fair bit quicker. The balancer is at least half the weight of the factory balancer. If you are unsure. Look at atomics balancer they are the best and you can never go wrong with any of there products. As for the removal. Yes quite easy however you do need a special tool to remove the balancer. Normal balancer pullers are too big and or dont lock in behind it properly and.you will fk it up.
  14. Yeah mate I totally agree with whats been said several times. Timing cover on these cars turbo or NA are renoun for severe oil leaks at the timing cover. I had mine off twice to reseal it. And yea the oil return to the sump. . They leak pretty nastily too. But just to confuse u a little more... If the pcv was blocked your rocker cover would be pouring out and thrre would be a bit of oil in the throttle body and in the pipes to the turbo.. In which case... Redo your gaskets cos they will be rooted now. But as said above wash ir and check it daily... My money still.is.on timing cover.
  15. It would always rev out in neutral or under load .. Jus the throttle wouldnt br anywhere near as responsive.. But as I said plugged scanner in several times. Not one throttle code only actuator code.
  16. So... After the weekend just passed iv come to the conclusion of my wastegate is rooted. Because it was opening up Sometimes the ECU would cut the throttle back to prevent overboosting and my motor going kabooom! Reasons iv decided is the car did not log any throttle codes which as said previously wud always log a code and only a "wastegate not open under pressure" code was always logged. And now. My actuator no longer opens. And havnt had any throttle loss. So.. Looks like its gonna be an expencive one. Bigger and better acutator, port and flapper mod to turbo. X3 flash and a tune.... Tops. Haha! Cheers for all the help everyone! and I hope this thread helps others too!
  17. Recieved the pdf file! Cheers! Gonna try test it out this weekend .. (hopefully) Only thing is the ETC light dosnt flash as far as iv seen whilst driving it. And yes. Iv tried resetting the TPS with the cranking at full throttle. ill plug a scanner back in.. Got a couple scanners here. So ill plug it back in again and see what comes up. Iv spoken to a friend who used to work at ford and I explained the problem. And he said everything that metalphreak has said in regards to the TPS. & PPS The one thing he did add is the turbo actuator. And said its possible that the actuator is sticking and not opening. The computer recognizes this and cuts the throttle to prevent overboost (which is one of the codes that occurs after this fault) .. As I havnt seen any throttle codes come up yet. Does this make any sense? And is it possible this could be the case?
  18. So I could 'almost' rule out the actuator? My first guess was the TPS intially. But the pedel sensor. Hmm. Good point. As u said metalphreak if the values are out even for a second it could cause it to play up.. But why log no codes? Does the workshop manual have the specs and parameters of both TPS and PPS? and would I only have to test it when the fault is occuring at the time? Otherwise it would read normal, right? Appreciating any feedback thank you all!
  19. hey all this is my first post so I hope someone out there would be able to point me in the right direction to diagnose my fault in my XR-T I have an 04 mk11 and sometimes (oddly on the weekends) it will have a sudden loss in power and makes acceleration and taking off difficult, especially being manual. Iv pulled off my crossovers and checked to make sure that the throttle butterfly was operating when the accelerator pedel is depressed in different position. Found all to be okay, so I put it all together and took her for a spin under all coditions again and no matter where the throttle was it jus had NOTHING. so I kicked the throttle pedal in frustration and the proper throttle returned momentarily. I tried boosting it and it had no boost at all (felt like a laggy N/A) .. I parked the car in frustration again and I kicked the throttle pedal in neutral flat to the floor and strait back off and it reved to 2300ish RPM when the revs settled I did it again and it only went to 1100RPm... sometimes after driving for an extended period of time it will all return to normal and everything is okay. through the week.. drives well (aside from crap economy 300km to a full tank) and she idles fine. no shuuders, knocks, noises, misfires nothin. so I think that sums it all up.. im leaning towards my TPS on its way out? yet to test it or my actuator is sticking? once again yet to test it. checked for boost leaks, manifold leaks, (all vacuum leaks) cleaned the boost solonoid, throttle body is SPOTLESS, umm.. im still yet to get it tuned or speak to a tuner (ill go see spirrow) but just want to do my own diagnosis work before I go start spending hard earned cash on things that wont help me. iv also plugged a scanner on it to see what fault codes come up and after this issue it has an overboosting code in it. appreciate any help. thanks all! jared.
