  1. thanks mate, are you happy with the quality of the rapid intake?
  2. Hi Guys, What's the best well priced solution for a turbo side intake & battery relocation kit to suite a G6e Turbo compatible with a process west intercooler. Rapid used to have them on ebay, not sure if they suited a process west cooler though can anyone help? The process west setup is quite expensive.

Dave reckons the stock actuator spring is strong enough and that he has done many xr6 turbo's g6e's and even f6's with the standard actuator with no problems at all. From the feedback I received today it sounds like I guess not all actuators are made equal, how many people here with FG's have actually had this problem and just rectified it with a heavier wastegate actuator? Thanks Chris

Thanks for your help guys, Dave's known to be one of the best tuners in Australia, he has done this cartridge change many times and said he always uses the standard wastegate actuator and tested this one on the dyno and everything seemed normal. Moving forward if it is the wrong actuator does this mean that the flap could be opening prematurely and losing boost? What is the right Actuator and where can I source one? Can it be swapped without to much trouble? Thanks heaps guys I wanna put this to rest.

sorry Ratter, Dave used the actuator from the Standard FG turbo.
  8. We just swapped out the standard FG turbo for a 35/40 cartridge and ported the wastegate at the same time. Problem is boost hits 18PSI but tapers off to about 12psi at redline. We have all the standard supporting mods ie cat, injectors, intake, xcal but have kept the STANDARD INTERCOOLER. We have tested the wastegate actuator and checked for any intercooler/BOV leaks on the dyno. Do you think the standard intercooler could be hindering the performance that much, if not what do you think it could be? We were thinking next to check the cat, it is however only a 6 month old 100 cell cat? G6E TURBO 35/40 ID1000'S XCAL MODIFIED INTAKE K & N 100 CELL CAT MACKAY - DAVE S
  9. Hey Guys I'm upgrading the turbo in my FG G6e Turbo to a BF MKII 35/40, which Earls filter do I need, can you recommend the right part no, and or item no on Ebay please?
  10. hey Trav, congratulations mate, awesome time, I've got a video of your car if you want it.

that's one hell of a sleeper, nice work. David does great work.
  12. meh I wouldn't be to concerned, I always thought LSD's were a must as the last two vehicles I've owned had them standard. My tuner was surprised how well it gets got off the line and he tunes F6's and XR6T's every second day of the week. I've done a few hard launches and it's always peeled both wheels. Unless your a drifter I wouldn't worry about it.... IMO it's not the first thing that should be done to a G6ET, I'd be tuning it and saving for an Intercooler before changing the diff.

Hi Guys I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself, the last couple of cars I've had were an S15 and R34, after growing out of the imports I decided on a 2010 G6E turbo in lightning strike & absolutely love it. Despite the liner pushing 300 rwkw the G6E would smoke it due to the way it consistantly gets of the line and the higher levels of torque. Had it for a month so far and Mods are as follows. 20" Staggered Black Argents, 245 Front, 275 Rears ID1000's, modified standard intake, tuned ZF auto, SCT Flash Tuner (Tuned by Dave Sheehy) King SSL & SSSL Springs with Front Camber Kit Kenwood 8" Sub to replace standard sub Future plans include process west front mount, f6 turbo and 6 pot brembo's Alpine type r speakers with JL 5 channel amp and sub (on order) GT Bonnet & F6E rear bumper. Thanks for all your interesting and entertaining posts on here and if anyone in mackay wants to go on a cruise or something swing me a msg. Cheers Chris
