  1. Sorry to bring up an old thread, JETURBO, what would you recommend for 700rwkw on e85? would the twin pierburgs, fpr2000 and twin feed rail be sufficient?
  2. Well I finally got around to replacing the turbo. Have been driving the car without any issues for the past month with no issues. I thought I had fixed the issue. Today was the only hot day we really had here in melbourne and this afternoon whilst I was driving the same problem came back! Seems to only do it in the warmer weather... Sending it to a new mechanic when I get a chance. George
  3. Ok. Thanks for the replies guys! George
  4. The only thing that has changed is the turbo. Same 12 psi actuator the car was previously tuned with. George
  5. Was making around 360rwkw beforehand. I did take it for a drive once I finished it and was very cautious. Started coming on boost very very early and got to 10psi very quickly (compared to the old turbo) so I backed right off and cruised it home. that's why I was asking.
  6. Hi Jet. Found some time and got the F6 running. In your opinion, is it ok to drive with the bigger turbo until I get it tuned? It already had a few bolt on's before. The only thing that has changed is the turbo from a gt3582 to gtx3582 Process west Stage 2 cooler with t/b relocation X-force 4 " dump pipe and twin 2.5" catback Turbo side intake and battery relocation Valve springs 12psi actuator Ported wastegate Thanks George
  7. Also Jeturbo, any tips for the actuator bracket? What easiest to use on a BF? Thanks, George
  8. I thought about going into the hot side pipe but wasn't sure what was the ideal way to do it. Would rather do things once but that's just me. Thanks George
  9. Thanks for the quick reply Jet!! George
  10. Hey guys, I know this is an old thread but I didn't want to start another thread about the same topic. Which position would be the best to put the boost reference fitting? I have uploaded a picture from pictures in this thread. A or B? Thanks, George
  11. Just saw all the replies now. The car drove fine all the time. I had the car re-tuned in april and still made good power but the turbo let go about 2 months ago now. its sitting in the shed for a while.
  12. So I managed to get into contact with the previous owner of the car (who my mate bought it off) and he has told me that it used to puff out some smoke occasionaly on take off when he had it, and burning a bit of oil which is what I am experiencing. According to my calculations, this has been on-going for the past 55,000 k's. He had the turbo rebuilt as that was thought to be the cause but still did it after that. Then had a leak down test, comp test and something else tested and the mechanics couldn't find anything wrong. He also mentioned that the head was replaced at 80,000 k's due to a recall or something? Any ideas from here onwards? Thanks, George
  13. No more than 5.5 litres and that's after putting around 500ml - 1L in on Monday morning when I noticed it was very low and went and purchased oil straight away to do the oil change. Was blowing smoke today when taking off. :S George
  14. hi guys, so I checked the oil level today after doing 500km's and it doesn't look like it has dropped at all despite it blowing smoke as described earlier. The past 2 days it hasn't blown any smoke like it was the other days. Something weird is going on... George
  15. I'm sorry :( haha I did an oil change on Monday so will check the oil level again tomorrow and report back exactly how much it has lost and how many k's it had done since the oil change. It was dead on the full line after going for a drive later that evening. Thanks, George
  16. What do you think Ralph? Is it a possibility or very unlikely?
  17. Hi guiys, Thanks for the replies. I originally thought it was turbo related in the beginning as it has been doing it on and off. Removed the drain pipe to make sure it was not blocked and all checked out ok. Along with the burning oil and topping it up a fair bit in between services (maybe 4-5 litres every 5000k's is what led me to believe it was the rings. Unfortunately I cannot get a leak down test done until next week some time. So in the interim I will try what you mentioned Ralph Wiggum. Thanks, George
  18. Hi guys, my BF typhoon has a been blowing blue smoke on take off intermittently for the past few months. Along with the blue smoke is the smell of burning oil. The past 2 days it has been doing it on idle and puffs out more smoke when going to take off, again with the smell of burning oil. The car is making around 350rwkw. It has done 215,000 has been serviced every 5k for a very long time now using penrite hpr10. I am thinking it is the rings but thought I'd check here to see if anyone could shed some light on the issue. Thanks George
  19. Hey frozenxr6t, Did you get to the bottom of this? Thanks, George
  20. Hi guys, I need to change the booster in my BF F6. It has the brembo front/pbr rear combination. It is built in 01/2006 and has the booster part number 3R23xxxxxxxxxxx and the spare one I have sitting here has a 5R29xxxxxxxxxx part number. I believe this is because new the booster I have is from a later model BF Mk 2 XR6 Turbo. The difference I can see is that the existing booster has B259-058 and the new one has B259-060. Is there any difference in the boosters and will it be ok to use on my F6? Thanks, George
  21. After reading all 3 pages I don't know what clutch to go for! My mind is boggled! Need something to support 430kw!
  22. Thanks for your reply but it still does it with the return line going into a bucket and bypassing the return in the tank.
  23. hi guys, just installed a process west anti surge tank with twin walbro fuel pumps and turbosmart fpr1200 reg into a 08 fg xr6t ute and we have run into a few issues. we are getting a reading of 70-75 psi fuel pressure at idle and no matter what we do to adjust the fuel pressure on the reg, nothing happens. we have also installed the block off for the standard reg as required. the reg was sent back and tested and came back with no problems. removed the fuel sender tonight and the return was slightly blocked so that has now been cleaned. even with the return line disconnected and put into a bucket the fuel pressure stays the same. we have no idea as what do to next. it has got me stuffed! any help would be appreciated. thanks, George
  24. hey guys, looking at getting some vertini drift rims in 20". would be looking at 20x8.5 and 20x10 to fit a fg xr6t sedan on ssl front and sssl rear springs. what offsets would I be looking at for a flush lokoing fitment? thanks in advance. George
  25. Hi mate, what springs are you running front and rear? My bro is looking at getting some D1R's for his BF. Currently has King Springs SSL in front and SSSL in rear. Thanks George
