  1. That’d explain why it was crabbing a bit Cant view Ford Forums unfortunately, anyone care to cut and dump in here??
  2. Yep straight swap bar WA’s ludicrous stamp duty!! I figure I’d spend thousands modding anyway, so what the hey! Only live once Not too concerned if its been tuned or not, as I’ll be taking it straight over to XFT for a thorough check up and tune anyway. Would be nice to know the history though so if anyone can find a thread let me know (just trawled through 35 pages of the ‘FG Offset’ thread to no avail) Cheers
  3. had this for only 2 months - 2011 manual with 16,000ks and premium pack... was stoked with it, until this came along at my local Ford dealer... 09 Auto with 22,000ks LOTS of goodies - Cooler, Exhaust, CAI, Adj Suspension etc. So Ive done a swapsy, and pick her up Wednesday. Doesnt appear to have been tuned before. Formally ran the plates [XR 79 WA] so not sure if the former owner is on here or not.
  4. cheers lads
  5. gettin warm here in Perth, so got tinted today... HP Solargard 20% for $320. This week rims go in for powdercoat (Matt Black) and lowering all round (SSL's)
  6. Ok cheers lads. Might go chuck my dosh on the Swannies to get up tomorrow then I'll be set
  7. Roger that. Say I did just want a tune for a little bit more to play with while I'm saving, what am I up for? Would probably be through XFT as I've heard he's pretty much yoda with these things in Perth
  8. Unfortunately I don't have the budget to chuck a few grands worth of mods at my T, so I have to take things progressively. Got $5-600 tops to play with at the moment and wanted some advice where to put it, performance wise? She's completely stock thus far - FG manual
  9. Just picked the turbs up from its 15K service today. When I booked it, I was asked whether I wanted to take advantage of Fords Capped Price Service, keeping the cost to $360. Naturally I said yes. Time comes to pay, bloke asks for $450!!! So I explain to him it should have been the $360 Capped Price Service, to which he replied "oh...we werent made aware of that and we've gone and put a fully synthetic oil in, which is more expensive". He was really good about it and just put it through at the agreed amount, but it got me wondering why Ford would even bother using a cheaper (normal) oil for the XR6T at all? I would have thought the Turbo would warrant synthetic oil as standard fare? Was also suprised to learn it was a Valvoline oil being used. Is this factory specified?
  10. OED666, cheers for that - very useful reading. It appears, once warm, the noise goes so its not a huge issue for me. Just found it unusually audible for such a new car. My old 32 GTR had an OS Giken twin plate that made less noise
  11. Gday Gents, Ive had my 11 FG XR6T for a week and this morning I carried out my usual routine of letting her warm up for a minute before setting off. What I noticed today was the abnormally loud noise when the clutch was disengaged. Im almost certain its the thrust bearing. After a quick google on the subject, it seems a lot of people just accept this is normal (for the model). The car hasnt even done 10,000 ks so Im a bit reluctant to just put up with it. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience and what the response from Ford was? Cheers

Hey all. Craig from Perth here, just laid the smack down on this manual 2011 FG XR6T. Pick her up this weekend and can't wait. Drove the ZF and the manual, and as good a box as it is, I just didn't like the unpredictable nature of the auto. Picked this up for 35K on the road, only 10,000ks on the clock and has full premium pack with leather, camera, sensors and 19's. You just can't beat them for value IMO. Anyway look forward to tapping into the wealth of knowledge on here, want a bit more power but nothing extreme. Cheers !!
