Left my XTV8 at the dealers for five days to get a list of warranty work done and you know what FU!K all got done. 1) Repaint RHR door 2) Gearbox hard to get second gear and sometimes jumps out of second gear. 3) Diff locks up and clunks when reversing 4) Power steering reservoir overflows oil when hot 5) Wheel alignment after replacing motor 6) Clutch very noisy on take off 7) Windscreen whistle at 130kph and at lower speeds when a truck passes from the oppsite direction Bonnet catch inside broken at handle This is what the service manager had to say 1) The spray painter has just quit so it sat at the panel shop for three day's 2) Nothing wrong with gearbox but doesn't no if they checked the oil level 3) We think it's the clutch but doesn't no if they checked the oil level 4) Power steering waiting for parts 5) Wheel alignment is not covered as the car has done over 5000km but I pointed out to him that the tyres where wairing good untill you took the front end off to replace the motor and that was less then 5000km ago. 6) Waiting on clutch kit 7) Windscreen ok as the mechanic will not drive over 110kph and was kindly reminded as that was the speed limt that I should sit on Bonnet catch waiting for parts even know the service department rang me two weeks earlier and said the parts where in. Sat at the panel shop for three days my arse as the car now has a extra 70km on the clock and when I left it at the dealers the trip computor said 11.5lit per 100km avg and when I picked the car up it now say 26.5lit per 100km avg. I love the new BA falcon but FORD AUSTRALIA GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER WITH THIS TYPE OF SH!T DEALERSHIPS. I have had three new ford vehicles in 10 years and now sorry to say my FORD LOYALTY IS BLOODY WEARING THIN

What iam trying to say is if you don't run around at 5000rpm all of the time is the XTV8 a better buy at around $10000 less then a XR8. We no that the XR8 will have a better resale value but if you had to add that 10 grand on car payments over 5years is it ? I have ran my manual XTV8 up agains ,my mate XR8 auto and under 4500rpm they sweet FA in it.

I have heard from some motorcycle mates that they is a clear flim like window tint that goes on the outside of headligths that stop stone chips and some cracking. Might Help

If a XTV8 pumps out 220kw at 4750rpm and 470Nm at only 3250rpm. With the XR8 pumps out 260kw at 5250rpm and 500Nm at 4250rpm. What does the XR8 pump out at the max rev's of the XTV8 and if it was possible what would the XTV8 pump out at the XR8 max rev's. Anyone ?

Ok I know it will look sh!t house but not as bad as a BA stuck on the side of the road with no headlights or radiator. I just hit my second roo in six month, third if you count the one that just ran into the front of my car while I was stopped at a stop sign, super roo all what. I have two new hella 4000 in the shed just waiting for a new home. It was only a small roo so the damage is bumper bar only just under the headlight. Has anyone had a roo bar fitted (photo please)and ifso at what price.

I got my BMC filter from www.autospeed.com $145.00 part number 327/04. I have now done 3000km with this filter with no improvement in MPG but that's because I like to rev it higher just to hear that great intake growl.

I have fitted a BMC panel filter in my stock airbox and love it. Made the stock XT V8 intake sound as good as my mates XR8 intake. Davo

I have fitted a BMC air filter in the stock airbox and the V8 is very happy with the extra air at high rev's. I dont like the the filter pod that sucks in the engine bay heat. When I ran one in my ford explorer I lost torque down low, made the auto gearbox drop down a gear on hills that the stock airbox never, with only one road out of town you new when she would normly cut back a gear. The motor ran like a lump of crap in the summer heat.

Could the black disc be pressed or slotted so they blow cool air on the brakes?

1) I dont have one but looks ok in my mates XR8, folds away into the center console when not in use. 2) I have the headlight guards and look ok, fit close to headlight with little overhang at each end of the lights and come off easy for a wash. 3)I dont have one and not seen one 4)I have it looks ok just a little cheap like a hair piece. 5)I have a CD wallet that goes on the sun visor,cheap and easy to use.

Looks cooler already.

My XT V8 has now done 11000km with 80% out-back driving with no sign of brake shudder at all with the standed brakes. I had taken the dust spacer off the disc from new , the way I look at it is if it helps to stop the flow of brake dust it must stop some heat if only a little.

This is not my idear I found it on another ford web site. Fit a bigger air snorkle off a AU11 XR8 to the stock BA air box.

Prestige (standed with 6 disc stacker in dash) you can't get the premium which is a joke as a XT V8 cost more than a futura.

Yes to me you can,t hear much difference untill your above 20 on the volume switch, after that there an't any louder but the sound is much clearer and sharper. Its like listerning to a cassette then switch to a CD. Yer not in Perth till Nov, coming down to get a good sports exhaust system. But after reading about Mr subaru warranty claim on a stuffed engine I might leave the exhaust alone.

Better late then never, I no some of you don't seem to like clarion speakers. I like to listern to a CD with the volume set on 30 but with the standed speakers the sound was SH!t and the clarion speakers are as clear as anything.

11000km in six months, apart from a new motor and that bloody windscreen hummmm at 140kph she still very tight unit.

We done a 5000km round trip at the start of the year. Around 10 tanks of fuel in two weeks, made no differnce at all in performance or MPG between brands name. It made little or no difference also from PULP to standed ULP.
