au, where are you going champ. au, as far as I am concerned, was rubbish. the Expensive Daewoo vt killed it in every way.

I think you should go the bf xr6 t. the auto box would be the clincher for me. if you want a manual go the typhoon. both great cars and you will be happy with either decision

the t's are unstoppable. they are the best cars on the market by a long shot. I am so happy I drive one. I am excited!!!!

handbrake is not covered under warranty. I think it is $45.00 to tighten it.

same here, I have never seen it past halfway. I would get it checked out.

well a porche turbo is just about the ultimate machine isnt it and you say it is modified so it would be even better. heck, most cars would feel slow after driving that thing

it sounds like you were fairly lucky to get away with the 1st one. I have to admit I never drove anything fast when I was young as I owned a datsun 120y for my first car and a honda accord for my second. I did have a porche 911 for a day though and that was the absolute best, altough I was 24 at the time. anyway I can safely say that this was my first stack and I hope it is the last because it is pretty scary when you loose it with 200 odd kilowats hitting the rear tyres.

to all of you who were interested, I am picking the car up today. it has had extensive suspension work done to it which included replacing most of the part and 2 new wheels. the cost $5500.00 all up. the wheels are $550.00 each. anyway thanx for the replies and I hope the car is back to its original state.

my last car was a Expensive Daewoo hsv senator vs model. it was a great car and I decked it out with a system with woofers and everything and then 2 months later sold it and bought the t. I lost out a bit on the deal but I must admit even though the t is a better car the senator was a nice drive.

unfortunately I am in sydney and the car is not going to a ford place for repairs, it is going to a repair place in sydney which does all cars. I hope they do a good job

good stories guys and I am sure many more people on the forums have had these little misadventures. the assersors have taken it to a repiar shop over on the north side and did not even bother to put it on the net (I am with NRMA). the guy at the assersors had a quick look and reckons that there is suspension damage. I will know the full details on monday morning from the repair shop. and I will ask them to replace both side rims. will they do this? I hope it is not bad suspension damage.

when you get in the car to start it up, lift the handbrake lever up down about 3-4 times in rapid succession and this gets rid of it. hope this helps

broke traction mildman. I had a look at the gutter this morning and it has got some big chips taken out of it. ouch

it doesnt sound too bad from what you guys are saying. will it affect other parts of the car after the repair?

hello as the topic states I had a stack last night. as I was turning right into a street the car gave way and both the left side wheels hit the gutter. it looks like the axle or something is broken because the car afterwards was very hard to drive. it was almost like it was skating on the road and steering was very difficuilt it is going to an assessing center today. anyone know what may have happened?

yeah, yeah, yeah, modded this will demolish stock this and modded that will demolish modded that. wrx will kill the t and conversly the t will kill the wrx. it is always the same story. no one knows for sure which is really faster stock vs stock, altough I do remember not long ago on these forums that a guy who had just bought a brand new 05 sti and he got his arse handed to him by a t, came on these forums and told us all about it. it turned out that the t had an edit and that was it. the guy sounded very pissed off and it was his first post.

I wonder if this new thread xr5 turbo will be as popular as the xr6 turbo? me thinks not. it looks like a great little car though and as far as hot hatches go this would be have to be up there. what about modding one? chucking an edit and some tuning and they could be a mad little thing.

from what I have read a good custome tuned edit will hose any stock wrx's as well as the sti and evo. anyone with an edit had any experiences with these cars?

I asked the same question a while back and the majority of the answers were that it would be ok. I do not think that they would put a tiptronic gearbox there if using it would stuff it. if you like using it, go for it.

not everyone is so keen on going to auctions. it is daunting at the best of times. this is why people may look elsewhere to buy their t's and probably pay more on them than at the auctions.
