I have this too. at around 80 when I apply the accelerator there is a noise and it sounds like it is coming from the back. could this be it

I hear ya people. I have always been with NRMA so I thought that they would do right by me. anyway they may scrap this internet bidding soon as too many people have complained and people in sydney who are with NRMA would understand what I am talking about. the repairer is not a dodgy place, it is that they are predominantly a body repairer with a call in mechanic. I suppose NRMA should have sent the car to an established and reputable mechanical repairer. anyway like the brunks said they do not want me going back there so I do not think that they have deliberately done a dodgy job.

just a quick one to all the people who read this post, I am going to give the repairers another shot at fixing the problems, the main one being the clicking coming from the front. he seemed pretty honest about it so I will give him another shot. he will also lend me his car while mine is in repair which is a genuine call I will let anyone intested know what happens.

that is just the point. I do not trust the orignal repairer to do the job properly. the mechanic has had 2 tries to get it right and it still is not fixed properly. I have complained to NRMA and that is why it is going back to the assesor. I just want to know if I have any rights now because I want to choose my repairer. thanx for the reply

sorry. NRMA in sydney have a new system where accidents are sent to an assesor and they take photos of the damage, put it on the internet and repairers bid on it and whoever is the cheapest wins the repair. it has been under much criticsm here and they may get rid of it. the clicking seemed to come from the front. when I reversed and turned the wheel to the righ it would click and sometimes twice. this was directly related to the suspension work which was done on the front. thirdly the front bumper on the left side had some damage and was sticking out a bit after the accident. hope this helps

hi all I recently got into a bit of an accident and my car was taken to an assesor in my local area on the north shore. anyway it did not go onto the internet and the guy sent it to a predominantly body work place. now it was obvious that the car needed some suspension work as well as other components around the area. I find out that they have a mechanic that comes in when he is needed. anyway the job was done and I noticed a clicking in the front section of the car. took it back and after a day (they ordered more parts) it was back to me. 2 days later I notice that the clicking is still there and in addition reversing out of a drive way I scrathed the underside only to find the left front has come off. now this was also fixed but obviously not good enough. I am going back to assersors this saturday. my question is what are my rights at this stage? can I now choose my own place for repair and I also need a courtesy car as it was the biggest hassle last time sorry about the long post any ideas anyone?

it has 2 new tyres. it would be a bit annoying to ask them to put another 2 tyres on it wouldn't it. is that what you mean?

it sounds like the majority is a wheel balance. they did it twice and still shakes. maybe they do not know how to do it properly. might take it somewhere else for it. thanx guys

they have been balanced though. could it be that it has not been aligned.

where will it end. you have the t paid for and now back into debt. my opinion, wait untill the bigger better version comes out because when it does, out will go the phoon for the updated one. it will never end. hold on to the t for at least 4-5 years and see what happens after that. sorry to be a spoilt sport

hello everyone just a quick one. I have recently had some suspension work done on the car. no problems but have noticed that the steering wheel shakes at around 70 - 80kph but stops at faster speeds. it is a slight but constant shake. I know that they have done a wheel balance but not alignement. could this be it. oh and it also 2 brand new tyres on the front. any ideas?

geez that seems pretty expensive. anyway I have had a chat with a guy at city ford in the city about the whiny 1st gear and he said that it is a common aspect to the auto and even if I replace it it will start doing it again. anyone with auto transmissions notice this and how can I fix it?

they change the oil every 60,000 km. check your manual, but this seems to be too many km's for my liking is you box part of the warranty?

thanx for the replies. I will not be doing this job. ford are going to charge me about $160.00 for the oil and filter change. pretty bloody expensive but as you guys say it may be a bit of a job to do. any ideas on my first gear whine. could it be due to the oil?

hello there I have a auto xr6t and am thinking of changing the oil and the filter on my 35,000 km service. I have noticed a bit of a whine in 1st gear lately and was wondering if this could be related to the oil? anyone else had this? and is it a good idea to change it early as I think that you are not due for one until the 60,000km mark. thanx
