  1. Hell yeah. Its not that big a job when you consider it, and doing it over a period of time gives me plenty of time to think my next step and plan properly. I have been planning this build for over 5 years, So ive built it a million times over in my head
  2. I have a soft spot for XF's and you rarely see any around done up to the hilt, going for a sleeper style, most of the engine bay will be matt black and polished, nice paint and wheels, but will be quiet until you give it a bootfull
  3. Was fairly farked. one photo of the chassis rails, there meant to be in line
  4. More progress. fitting up the pedal box and bf brake booster, bit of cutting and custom fab to come, but it fits for now Using a damaged pedal box to fit up before I buy the new one to go in
  5. Bit of an update. The notching kit for the engne bay arrived on friday, will allow me to notch out the strut towers so that I can fit the engine with turbo attached in the engine bay, without the need to make up a highrise manifold to fit the turbo in. Car will be spun on the resto roller later this week so I can start to work on the underbody of the car, I need to make up brackets to fit the XR seats, mount the handbrake on the floor and run the handbrake clips. I am getting there slowly. I also took lots of measurements yesterday, conveniently enough I should be able to the run the standard loom for the computer through the firewall and mount on the underside of the glovebox. will make for a neat engine bay
  6. Will be using the car on the street and shows so I want it to be streetable, but will definately take it down the quarter mile a few times and take it to track days to give it hell. Is the kind of car that's only going to be driven once a week, it will never be my daily. I dont like waiting for my power either Id prefer it to come on early and strong then wait till 3000rpm and have all kinds of problems keeping it in a straight line. Minitub is looking to be an option reading all the fun you guys are having trying to keep the bloody thing in a straight line is interesting, I wont have traction control or ABS either
  7. The stock tune is pretty close to just under EPA as far as I no, BUT once you start to add more boost and aftermarket tune you do start to see better fuel economy from them as the airflow is increased, that's until you lay your right foot into the floor. Ive definately seen some 350rwkw XR's getting around that have heaps better economy then stock
  8. Cool, I have the build on another forum and steve I think from Nizpro actually got in contact with me to say exactly what was done to the engine, I had no idea when I bought it as a stat writeoff that anything internal had been done, I did get away with blue murder in regards to the price and nearly fell over when told how much had been spent on it. I will be talking to Nizpro soon once the engine is fitted to see where to go with the exhaust and turbo, am also considering some Atomic Cams to make the little bugger a little grumpy on idle. I wish I didnt have to be at work so I could get my butt home and have more time to work on the body to get it ready.
  9. Thanks mate, still a while away but I cant wait for the first drive
  10. Thanks for the info guys. I could go for 450rwkw plus but this engine is going into a XF which will be roughly 500kg lighter then the previous BF it came out of. I definately think the To4z is the way to go, with either a 3.5 or 4 inch system strapped on will be a killer setup. the engine and box I picked up has all the stage 3 gear inside, stud and girdle and billet oil pump gear and the stage 2 gear strapped on also twin plate clutch. will be selling the I/C and piping kit and going for a plazmaman and aluminium I/c piping mad to fit into the xf, will be rolling and flaring the rear guards to run 11 inch wide semi slicks to get the power down.
  11. Thankfully I didnt pay the prices marked on the website, I picked up a writeoff a hell of a lot cheaper with everything already done. I was intrested what kind of power and perfromance people are getting out of the kits
  12. Hey guys Ive recently bought a XR6T Engine and box which is meant to have the stage 3 engine rebuild kit from Nizpro, also has all the stage 2 gear strapped on as well, has anyone here had mods done by them. Interested to know what the gear is like and what I should expect if I upgrade the turbo housing to a T04Z with straight through 3.5 inch xhaust system.
  13. Pics of my build smoothing the engine bay on the resto frame, ready to do the underbody donor car

    New Members Thread

Hey thought Id say Hi, ive started a post in the multimedia section of the car im building. might even start a small project thread for people who are interested. Building a XF Falcon with a Nizpro modded XR6T engine with 6 speed manual behind it, lots of custom stuff and plenty of headaches along the way. Hope you guys like
  15. I found out on another forum that the engine was rebuilt by Nizpro about 5000kms before the accident, I actually brought the car not knowing that it had the complete rebuild done so massive score for me. its still a while way before its in and running but will definately get there over the next 18 months Will be street registered and engineered, good compramise between show and go, and yes the brakes will be big, at least 18's to fit them on, smaller booster so it doesnt instantly lock up when you plough the brakes.
  16. Hi guys thought Id just say a quick hello, joined up to further my knowledge on the XR6 turbo gear. Im currently building project XFORCED so to speak. Building an off its head DOHC turbo conversion into my 86 XF Falcon, lots of custom gear and tonnes of hours in the shed going into the project. So hope you guys like lots! Few pics of the project below Donor Car Donor engine, Nizpro stage 3 complete rebuild, stage 2 full kit, twin plate clutch etc etc and the car its going into
