So my earls oil line has started leaking in 2 places now and its gotta come back off. What have people found the best way too seal this bastard. Mine was perfect for a good 20000kms. I used sanded copper washers on the block and pressure switch, But never had to do anything with the filter itself but now that's leaking. Will thread tape do here??

but its the electric side of it guys. batteries been in and out plenty of times so that's not doing it. no other electric problems for any of the fuses?? Will it still make a noise if say the glass was jammed somehow? Where is the motor??

other mods?? with the flash? making 250 at the rear without a huge amount of boost would be nice. im a fan of doing things differently. 250ish on 6 pound would be nice!!

Hey all, Just wondering if I would run into any trouble flushing out the engine and hoses without a radiator. Pulled the old crappy radiator out and waiting for the arrival of my new radiator. Just wanna flush all the crap out before putting the new one in. Just a garden hose in either side for a while should do a good enough job and then a full flsuh once the new radiator is in? Thansk guys.

yea well I ahd a drama with the oil feed line to the turbo. I had done regular services but after I was told by a mechanic that the 2nd turbo would go on fine and the car was all good to accept it. I was told luck played a factor in the first turbo going. So on went the 2nd, 6 days later bang. Lost the plot at the mechanic, checked the car out myself and realised the feed line was putting close to nothing out of it for the turbo. Wasnt until I put the 3rd turbo on that I jumped on the computer and found these ba oil lines clogging up was a bit of a common issue

na clutch in or out its still there. seems like we all got rattling Ts haha. Maybe a sick as big shaker out the bonnet can fix it

ok so capa wont have a drama changing the vin? but cant put an even slightly tweaked tune on it? So even the smallest of variables...fmic, cai, exhaust..is gonna cause a mediocre tune? Yea I wouldnt say theres much life left in the box. It sounds and operates nicely still, definitely gave it a beating when I was 19 though haha. Any options for the 6 speed or am I at a dead end without big coin? Thanks Ratter your a guru

Hey all, Had the T for a few years now but always just used it to run around and even was used for the baby/mum car for the last 9 months. Finally got my car back after buying the misses an 07 xr5t mmmmmmm....nice lil car. Anyway mines a grenade apparently.. 03 XR6T. So yes the early block and 5 spd. I have fitted an earls oil line after a couple failed turbos, onto the 3rd now a freshly rebuilt item at ATS in Marion. Also have fitted a huge front mount when I first bought it. Has ~80 000kms on it. So what can I do to try make this fairly reliable once I flash it. I have the first box which has had the tunes put back to it from a mates car, im guessing capa can still change the VINs on these?? What else will I need? Plugs im guessing due to more boost I have a mechanical boost gauge, is there a nice spot to run the vacuum line or is it a case of making a new hole in the firewall? A tune out of capa would be beneficial I guess.

too hard to explain. I have heard loose flex plates/flywheels etc. its a different noise and behaves differently. Not much point without as sound clip

Hey all, Started getting this pesky rattle at idle. Obviously hard to explain what sort of rattle it is, but I get it once the car is warm and sits at a lower idle rpm. If I feather the throttle to keep the rpm up it goes way, then back at idle it comes back. Its hard to tell exactly where its coming from as sound does sometimes travel through other parts. I have tried rags between different parts of the intercooler piping that was sitting on other parts. Nothing changes. Tightened all the exhaust flanges. Still rattling. Only things I think it could still be is maybe the baffle in the catalytic converter or maybe something to do with maybe bearings in the front pulleys??? sorry if this sounds stupid but I really have looked over alot of things with no result! Maybe someone has had a similiar problem. Ill kick myslef if its something easy/stupid Thanks in advance

Hey all, Been a problem for a while now, with sad, short efforts at resolving it. The sunroof is doing nothing! I have checked the fuse which apparently goes along with the electric chairs also???? which still work. Pulled out the roof control panel and all wiring and PCBs look fine./ What else can I look over. I dont care for it myself but I do like things to atleast work! Thanks in advance

hey all, BA MK1 Premium sound All the sound is factory Just recently I have started losing the stock subwoofer all together. Nothing at all coming out of it. Im not sure, but I think the whole system loses the bass altogether. Then all of a sudden it will cut back in. This is with volume at any levels and I can find anything that is causing it to cut in/out. Anyone had this issue and rectified it, any common issues? Also have a decent woofer in a box hanging around, any benefit in using it with the fraud amp? im no speaker freaker and am happy with what fraud has supplied so wouldnt waste my time/money/effort in new amps, wiring so on so fourth to get some hektic bass yo! anyone find a way to get these pesky clamps off with just the nobbly end on it. Just cut the hose or snap the clamp, because im going too!!

Hey guys has any one had trouble with getting aftermarket oil lines to seal nicely into the block?? Tried everything! Also have recently noticed where the blow off valve was, a hose has been left unplugged under the x-over! would this cause turbo failure? Thanks

thanks mate ill look into the fuse. as for the battery I just replaced it. couldnt wait another night to see if my turbo replacement was a success. and it was!!! first crank and she was all sweet with no leaks. mission complete

Hey just wondering if anyone has had issues jump starting there BAs. I had the battery from factory replaced 2 months ago and recently left the radio on :( until the battery went flat. Tried jump starting it with a fully charged 550cca battery and it wouldnt even give me anything from the starter just the click click click! Should it be able to be jump started? The battery could be rubbish as I tried hooking a small charger up to it and it didnt give it any life at all! Also the factory sunroof has stopped working all together. Anyone had any issues or common gremlins with the sunroof? The handbook doesnt even specify where any fuses or relays are. Could anyone enlighten me as to where they are so I can troubleshoot this piece of dirt!! Thanks guys and great forum! BA MK1 XR6T by the way

Bought another xr6 turbo...cheap, now I know why haha BA MK 1 5 speed with 70 000kms. Looks to have been a bit mis treated with a huge pointless intercooler on it. Dead stock. Has a massive exhaust leak between either the manifold and block or manifold and turbo, drove it anyway and still made good boost. notcied the turbo was a little noisy on wind down after shutting her off compared to my well maintained xr6 haha. Anyway took it for a bit of a stint for maybe 100kms and on the way home it lost alot of boost, almost none. sounded as if it had popped an intercooler pipe, but cant find any leaks. now when winding down the turbo is making a lot of knocking and noises. Looks like it has definitely had a bearing collapsed or even a bit of sh*t has caused some damaged as the pod filter job is a shocker. Im more of a standard well looked after car type of guy but seeing as im probably going to have to rebuild this piece of sh*t for realistically $1100ish, just wanted to know what peoples opinions were. I dont want to go mental but a bit more would be good. So what would be my best option. Rebuild the turbo, new lines, fresh service ~ $1400ish Brand new, new lines, fresh service ~ $1800ish Uprgrade? flash, injectors, exhaust 10psi ~ $3000ish Pockets arent the deepest but just wondering what your opinions were, keeping in mind we are dealing with a mk1 engine and a 5 speed box haha

yea well spark plugs could be an obvious thing to try. Just thought id see if anyone has had a simliar issue. Im getting new plugs asap anyway because I have a flash tuner with generic tunes and realise some properly gapped plugs would be needed. Does anyone know the best plug off the top of their head?? What sort of gapping would be optimal too? I would do some in depth research etc. but really dont have the time lately :( Plugs could be 68 000ks old for all I know, I have driven 8000ks and its only recently started doing it. Along with another annoyance grrrrrr. Im getting a flapping noise under full boost (5/6psi hahaha) in 1st and 2nd gear. very odd noise. not like pinging or anything though.
