Didn't want to start another thread about BA rods so I'll put this in here. What would be a rough $ figure for a workshop to fit just rods?...Thinking about getting some spool rods for my BAII. Would it be worth/needed to get forged pistons at all?, as I'm staying at 340rwks. Cheers

I want be doing it for a while (probably mid next year), as I only recently spent another $4000 getting it where its at now. Budget would be about $4000-$6000 incl install. How much do F6 short motors go for, used and new?

looking at making my BAII motor a little bit stronger, worried I'm going to put a rod through the block running 342rwkw. Just been broswing through the atomic wesite and unsure whether I should look into getting the Phase 1 698 rebuild kit or just go for the billet conrods as I'm not looking to go higher than current power level, just want some reliability now.

Not sure if they ended up porting the wastegate, I did talk about it with them and they said would do it. But yeh boost seems to be holding fine and delivery is smooth.

Forgot to put that in, I'm running 14psi and have the 6 spd manual T56 with an exedy HDCB clutch. I had heard a few good and bad comments about them as well, but I was happy with the work they did and tune seems good.

I know there is a few similar topics to this already but I just need to put my mind at ease a bit haha. Ok so got my car dyno tuned yesterday my BAII (08/05) is now putting out 342rwkw @ 14-15psi(all my mods are listed in my sig)only change to internals is vavle springs which according to my tuner need to be replaced already. I'm just a bit worried about how much power the car is running now..I really don't want to possibly have to fork out for a new bottom end a month down the line. Car is driving good no dramas whatsoever even when floggin it and tune seems rather good not too aggressive but does anyone think I should wind it down to something like 320rwkw???

Well finaly got my car dyno tuned ended up going to D&T instead of peckys...result was good with 342 rwks. Not bad at all only thing I'm worried about is my car being a BAII with stock bottom end..might just have to wind it back a little for peace of mind I think lol, but it drives perfectly fine and is damn quick!! btw. Very happy with the result of my BAII T (t56 man) visiting the dyno at D&T performance in Darwin this week. Just got the car back an 1hr ago and it reached 342rwkw easily. I can't beleive how much quicker it is...car was previously around 265rwkw. Also loving the new exhaust note!!! I forgot to find out what psi not sure it actually says on the dyno sheet. (reading 14psi on my guage) Unsure if he ended up porting the wastegate might ring them up again tommorrow..lol I was too pumped about driving the car then actually finding out everything. Well should have my car back in two weeks after a minor MVA that wasn't my fault. I have booked my car in at pecky's for mid next month and get my Deka 60ln injectors and surge tank w/ 044 bosch pump and a 300-320rwk tune just wondering whats happening around late November? any cruises planned or street drags at Hidden Valley? will defenitaly by then hanging for some drag/track action by then as got a voucher to drive a Ford BA V8 race preped car at end of this month can't wait!!....

well so far so good insurance assessor had a quick look this morning and said the damage near the door sil should be easy to fix then replace with new doors + boot and wing and a slap of paint good to go..now just wait and cruze round in the old tank EF.

Well Yesterday morning was one of the worst for me....:( was about to pull into the driveway at work making a right hand turn at a T-Intersection, the slip lane for oncoming traffic was backed up into the other lane and I was waved through by another car. I checked if was any cars coming and started turning doing about 5-10km/h as I glanced again to check the car that waved me through wasnt moving, in a split second I saw a motor cycle 2m away and whack the bike hit my passenger side doors and the rider ended up flying onto the boot of my car all because he couldnt be bothered waiting for the traffic and decided it would be a good idea to duck out and cross double lines what a f*** wit. The rider was still concious and seemed ok but obviously had a suspected spinal injury. Ambo and coppers were there in 5mins as this happened outside Robertson Barracks army base. I only had a piece of glass fly into my nose from the passenger window shattering, air bags didnt go off either. Now my car is possibly a write off, the pillar itself between front and rear door is fine but down near the bottom door sil in the corner is dented in about 3 or 4mm small as but still I think its enough for it to be stucturely unsound but getting assesed tomorrow morning car still drives perfect no chassis or susp damage, I feel sorry for the bloke but pissed off that he did the wrong thing and it ended up bad for him.

Dam wouldn't mind bringing my T to this last meet in october :( but car is overboosting at the moment and won't have a dyno tune done till end november when I have time to get the car off the road.

Had a Exedy HDCB clutch put in my T (270rwk, T56)about 2 weeks ago... Hearing a little rattle (can barely hear it unless full on listening for it) when car is in neutral the sound stops when the clutch pedal is in. Also when taking off a very light shudder type sound if I dont take off slightly harder than normal. Am I just being paranoid or are these things normal with an aftermaket clutch?

Hey mate . If your looking at getting a BA MKII you can get the T56 Box(6spd), mine is an 2005/June Build and came standard with the car. Also if your aiming for 300rwk if u get one with a T56 consider getting a tougher clutch, mine finally let go last week and I was only running 270rwk some seem to last and some don't but yeh just something to consider as well.

Ok so yesterday was driving my BAII T around and after about 1hr driving gear changes where becoming a bit difficult, thought it was just my floor mat stopping peddle going all the way in, so I buggered that off but was still doing it. Left the car at home overnight and was about to drive it this afternoon but couldnt even put the car in gear, peddle has no pressure what so ever. I can still select gears when car is off but cannot start it as clutch wont engage. What could this be?? CSC or just the plate itself. Clutch is standard and car has about 270rwk. week prior noticed occasional slippage in 3rd gear

Looking at buying my mates SCT X3 box for $600 as he is selling his FG T, at the moment I've got either the X1,X2? unsure (herrod stealth). Is there any major benefits making it worth while in upgrading my flash tuner to X3 apart from the data logging, etc? I am about to install rapids v3 kit,fuel pump/surge tank and new injs then custom tune on my 05 BAII T so obviously looking at getting the box beforehand.

Whats a normal engine oil temperature for a BA XR6T when it is at operating temp (and thrashed every now and then while driving)?
