Hey everyone As u can see I am new to the XR6T community and boy what can I say? I love coming home every night and logging onto this website because of the information which you fellow members supply to a newbie like me is amazing. I have had my fair few accounts on other website and I gotta hand it to u all that no one comes even close as been as nice as u all r. Ive only just recently bought an XR6T and the amount of support, help and guidance I have gotten for my first months membership is amazing!! I have not yet come across a forum based website where there are NO!! arguments and no people just been regular ass's to one another! I am just mind blown on how informative some of u blokes r and how everyone just bounces ideas off each other. so I just wanted to take this time and say cheers to u all for been top blokes and just been decent with the posts u write back to one another. so thanks again everyone! I am proud to be apart of this online community SouthSide
  7. ummmm they just took it out and re-serviced it so im guessing made sure the bearings were all good and connected all back up
  8. yeah my car would make the noise when I say turned the car on for the first time in the day drove like a 100 meters then turned it off and it sounded like it was grinding! but now its all good an fixed up.. so id recommended just dropping by sumwhere to have it checked out I mean its better to have it looked at now and have peace of mind than having to pay lots for a new turbo or rebuild!
  9. ay mate just curious to know what he front lower grill ( by the intercooler) is called.. like is there a name for the mesh or not? and whats the best place to find them? cause I replaced my intercooler and unfortunately during the replacement my rather stupid dog found the metal mesh object as a chewy toy so I need a new one cause I reckon it looks better with a front grill...
  10. mate save yourself the time, stress and money and rather buy a 6spd manual!!!!! u will forever be disappointed driving a 5spd version constantly having to get rebuilds! so wait a little longer, get more cash and buy a BF T56 6 speed manual and you will be smiling for the rest of your XR6T days!!!
  11. got my pride and joy back about 2 hours ago and im please to report all is fixed. Apparently the blokes at the so called fraud service venue did not finish the job up when servicing the turbo and one of the bearings was kinda guttering around at low revs but popped back into position when I went over 2000-2500 revs. so the boys did the right servicing and all is running smooth as a whistle! just happy it wasnt anything major or serious!! but once again thanks for all your help greatly appreciated
  12. Ahk yeah probably nothing to worry about really but still dont wanna run into troubles. I'll see what the boys say later this afternoon when I pick it up. I'll keep u posted about what they say but cheers heaps for all your help
  13. Yeah it's t56 6 speed manual. It's been checked today but still not sure what it could be. Maybe it's just the engine or something but it only happens at low revs. Anything over 1600 it goes away.
  14. Na it sounds complety normal like every other xr6t it's just weird. But I'm taking it in today to be it checked out
  15. its only done 40k and has had regular services but of course not been a dick but I dont 100% trust ford servicing. so you reckon its either oil or a bearing?
  16. Hey all hows it going? I have had my lovely 05 BA MK II XR6T for a bout 6 months now and I have had no trouble what so ever. But just recently the last 3 weeks or so ive noticed a grinding like sound coming from what I think sounds like the turbo spinning but makes a weird noise when I drive below about 1800-revs... but then again as soon as I boost it the sound disappears and all the power I could desire is still there!!! I dont know why it sounds like its grinds but then goes away when the turbo spins at a higher ratio. Im not sure if its something to worry about or not but just curious to know because I am not the most mechanical guy and any little bit of help would be useful. cheers Dom
  17. I just recently bought a 2005 XR6T MkII 6 speed manual with a tune and its possibly the best thing iv owned apart from my good old TV.. personally with the way the market is atm, car prices r coming down so its best if u hold in there a little longer and buy yourself a decent XR6T MK II 6 speed manual. I promise it will NOT!!! disappoint u my friend
  18. Upgraded from a 1990 hilux stock 22r which put out sumthing like 50-70 kw's... and now just got a 2005 MKII XR6T tuned to 283rwkw.. just loving every bit of it
  19. hey everyone I am a newbie to the whole XR6 Turbo range so I applogise for any newbiness which this topic may encounter. I am currently 17 and as we know fuel prices can be a bit hefty at times for a young lad as myself, so looking at the premium unleaded and high octane unleaded prices make me "gulp" a bit compared to the prices of original unleaded fuel or better known as the "2000" series. my question is simple and basic. what is the best fuel to use in a XR6T? I am highly dedicated to keeping my vehicle in the best condition I can and also always ensure I only use the "good stuff" such as oils, lubes etc to keep my car running smoothly but also gives it room to perform when I plant the accelerator. So is there a huge difference between using normal unleaded compared to premium unleaded? and is the whole using premium unleaded will give u more fuel economy and better performance true? im just curious to know that's all. cheers and apologies to the newbiness again!
