  1. im embarrased to ask this but hopfully wont get bagged too much lol....with a turboside intake (eg. stainless) where does it actually get air from if its fully enclosed and behind the headlight? the stock/xr8 intake has a mouth behind the grill where the air flows through before it gets to the airbox/panel filter
  2. after a few reviews from diff sites and some research I thaught id give these a go.....replaced all the 4 stock dunlops with these and have had them on the car for about 5,000ks..in short..very impressive for the price! heaps better than the dunlops... dry - pretty good..it still breaks out in 1st gear slightly..but only so much that the tyres just squeel - dosent full short-shift into 2nd like with the dunlops..up front they seem to steer well too..I remember when taking corners too fast with the dunlops dsc kicked in for understeer..with these it dosent..feels much more stable.. wet - its hard to tell as im sure no matter what tyres u have u cant push it in the wet neway...but it holds ok dont have to baby it around.. their actually the same compound as the fedral 595's but last much longer according to john at protek tyres - champ! specs/price - 245/35/19 for $170 each!!
  3. its better than you think without an LSD I think when their modded it'll be worthwhile getting 1 though
  4. even after the tune? iv herd bout the problem but think from what iv herd its not too common just bad luck..somthing bout the heat exchanger on the zf or somthing yea?
  5. Lol nah that wouldv been the 32 with the screamer...thing was mental off the line! dun think it wouldv made a diff if I did stall it up though
  6. Hey trainer plates are my surname every1 jus calls me that...feels weird if ne1 actually says my 1st name lol..n yea that curry dude in the probe was too annoying just in the way!
  7. just got home wasent too bad...did spot TRA1NR too crusing with a dark typhoon..looks mint at that height man...was in the velvet g6et wouldv been alright to get a light but that stupid red (ford probe?) came in front of u..also spotted orsm4L later on wen a few of us were chiling near drummond..sounds mint up top..and a really nice yellow typhoon that turned into drummond n also sounded & looked like it goes really good..*Beep* drove past but was all on his lonesome
  8. Love the Velvet mexican batman...not baised at all
  9. ah its not just me then....guess we can add it to this list of "its just a ford thing" lol...but yes when it gets to about 1/8 tank it becomes louder - but like I said before its not usually that low for long and I dont really push it when it gets that low neway so its more of a noise issue more than anything else..
  10. yea still under warrenty and na..nothing has popped out all seems normal? hasent just happened its been like that for a while but never really care cause its not usually low on fuel neway/hasent effected performance etc...
  11. lol..dw its not normally that low but jus found it funny cause other cars dont make that sound when they have less than 1/4 tank haha...guessing its nothing to stress bout neway jus wanted to see if any other fg owners have this
  12. Hey guys - I have a 09 G6ET and have noticed that when the fuel gauge gets to about 1/4 tank I can hear a sort of slurping sound from the fuel tank area. Best way to describe it is if you were drinking somthing out of a straw and get to the last bit you get that slurping sound when your done. It gets louder when the fuel is lower...hasent caused any probs just want to know if this sound is normal or not...
  13. hmm good that I found this thread and see its normal..I too have this happen somtimes in my 09' G6ET...not just the pullback u get after backing off midway through a gear after heavy acceleration - think that's part of the FG range of ZF's...but more along the lines of small clunks from the rear after low speed acceleration/backing off..adjusting the style of backing off helps a bit but it is still annoying it even exists..dont mind though if its normal..got a service at pitlane recently neway so if there were any real issues wouldv deff found em
  14. damn..was it a silver ve ss? there was one of those sitting in the median strip just after north rd maccas didnt see the plates though..also guys watch out for an orange fg 50th ann xr6t..has the 50th ann stickers on the side etc - also an undercover
  15. if theres a workshop that you know of that are good I would go to them over a dealer...heres somthing I found out earlier this yr..for general servicing, motor vehicle dealers are entitled to insist that any servicing performed on cars they sell is carried out by qualified staff, according to the manufacturer’s specifications, and using genuine or appropriate quality parts where required. Provided these conditions are met, regardless of where you choose to get your car serviced, your warranty will remain intact. I was reluctant to give it to Ford even before I knew this as their prices are too high and I dont trust dealer mechanics. For my 30k service at a workshop with a good rep it was $230. Even Ultratune would be a better/cheaper option than dealers.
  16. bit of an old topic but would also like to find out how they are? saw them at a tyre shop and have been trying to find out how they are..so far have found out that they are the same compund as federal 595SS, have a AA grip rating n have a tyreware rating of 240 (same as the dunlops) and seem like a good tyre for the price..I also have a stock G6ET but for the price theres no way im getting the dunlops again (245/35/19)
  17. yeaa....the 19's they come with suit it well..either them or the 50th ann 19s..lowered and would look even more sleek this is the best pic/chop? iv seen of 1 so far..
  18. nicee...dw once u get a few more k's on it n go through a few tanks of 98 it'll feel less tight n pull even more..
