  1. Thanks for the reply's all. I booked it in to the Dealer I purchased the car off. Called them on Tuesday afternoon this week, they booked it in for 8am Wednesday morning to have the steering fixed, the shocks were making strange noises going over speed humps (Fine in normal driving) Fixed those plus order a new plastic stip for the pilar just behind the drivers door on the ute as it had broken pre purchase but they hadn't fixed it the day I picked it up. the car was ready to be picked up at 1pm on the same day. So big thanks to the guys at Ron Bratton Ford Wollongong.
  2. The dealer I brought my T ute off told me you cannot get the Prestige sound in the ute as there is no need for all the speakers and sub (Fair enough) But I just wanted the colour screen anyhow. I told him this and he said it cannot be installed into the ute. So therefore I have the standard setup. The question being is it true that you cannot get the prestige sound in the ute or have I been told a whole heap of crap to get me to buy the car he had in stock??? Because the car is exactly the one I wanted, just without the prestige sound.
  3. Hey, doesn't your engine chew oil? Oh, that's the Expensive Daewoo engine. Don't make vague generalisations about the six speed, there are 28 available, Ford may not use the Expensive Daewoo version. Who said anything about Ford using the Expensive Daewoo box??? I have been told this by 3 friends who own holden's (Manual GenIII V8) that they rarely use 6th. No need to jump at someones throat for stating what they have been told by people using the 6 speed box. Some people may love the extra gear and the different gear ratio's. But for a city driver like myself I would not require it. Don't get me wronge, I have a SSS 'T' (Not a bombadore as you emply) and if they brought out a 6 speed SSS option I would want one straight away. I would pass on a six speed manual as just a personal prefference.
  4. Thanks ducatijb, I thought that might be the case, I was typing in "Steering noise" "Steering creeking" etc. Obviously the wronge thing will try again. Cheers
  5. Just curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue. Seems to be at a certain point in turning when parking or reversing that the steering creeks. No vibration or shudder. PS....I have tried to search the site but didn't come up with any ideas on what it may be. I have an SSS Auto Turbo ute with 2000klm's on the clock. Will take it back to the dealer for the 3000Klm service but wouldn't mind being able to tell them what the issue is.
  6. LOL....How much have Armourall do you put on dswiders??? Must be a heap for it to reflect onto your windscreen.
  7. Also, Speak to any Expensive Daewoo drivers with the GENIII & a 6 speed box and they will tell you they rarely use the 6th gear (Unless on a long trip on a decent highway) Just a thought.
  8. Put some Armourall on the dash, brings it up nice and shiney. Looks alot better then the dull factory look and protects your dash from the sun in the process.
  9. What size are those rims??? I love em!!
  10. Just a quick question, Will the new 6 speeder have the SSS option????
  11. Also the XR6T got 5's for performance and ride, the other 2 got 4's. We all know what the better car is!!!! :-)
  12. Did anyone notice that last year the XR6T got an overall rating of 4.1, whereas this year the RX8 and WRX got 3.78. Go the FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Hambo, I gethered you ended up getting the ute. How did you go with the insurance side of things? Did you end up putting it under your old man's name?

Go for it Hambo....If you only need a loan for half the price of the car I dare say you know what your doing with your money, so you should be right mate. I think about half the people in the forum are just like us. Took a pluge and hoped for the best. You only live once. Im am also like BlueXR6T, except I have only had my ute for 6 weeks and I have a smile on my face the size of Sydney Harbour Bridge :D

Hambo, Im 22 and brought the same Ute that you are looking to get (Except the 18's) I got offered a deal to good to refuse through work that I just had to take. YOu've got to remember the on road costs of a new car thought. $3000 is about what I payed for onroad costs all up (That's eerything from dealer delivery to rego) in the end the ute cost me $38000 on-road. Insurance was another problem and funnily enough NRMA was the only company that wouls insure me and with a 65% no-claim bonus it came to just over $2100. But if the car is financed it jumps to $2500 so that's another thing to look at when you get your loan. Also if you are insuring under your dads name I would find out if you are aloud to drive it (From the insurer) as most insurers will only allow drivers who are not listed on the policy to drive the car once a month and if you were to be listed on the policy, the policy would be calculated from the youngest driver which is pretty much the same as you getting the insurance yourself. Also the excess for a 19 year old would be alot. If I were you I would do alot of research before purchasing and im sure the guys in this forum will be more then willing to help you out. Hope this helps. :-)
  16. I scraped mine on a friends driveway the other day. Only just but still enough to be very off!!!!! Still has the factory springs and shocks. They ride pretty high though stock and have had no other drama's just won't be going up his steep driveway again.
  17. It would definately be the perfect spot for a boost gauge!
  18. Yeah, I don't really like the clock but just looks good to change the dash a bit. The boost gauge would be the go. Hope to see a reply from someone to say they have put one in with a boost gauge. PS...A pic would be even better!
  19. Does anyone have an idea of where these can be purchased. Is it just from your local Ford dealer?
  20. That is the same price that is offered at every dealership for a staff member who works for a company (ie bank) that is part of the Ford Partner Recognition Program. So that's the best part, I went to my local ford dealer and got the car, didn't have to worry about going to a whole heap of dealers and haggle for a price, just what extra's I get with the car. Very happy. This is the website. www.fordpartner.com.au
  21. Working for a bank, got my XR6T ute for 34,998. Phantom paint/interior, xr scuff plates, xr mats, SSS. The worst thing about a new car is it costs bloody $3000 to get the things on the road with all the dealer/rego/stat/delivery etc charges that you have to pay. Plus being only 22 $2500 for insurance didnt help either! Well worth every cent though.
  22. Hi all, Im new to the site as I just got my new XR6 Turbo ute last week. Very happy with it. :D Just curious as to whether someone has run a Auto ute down the strip and if so what times/speed etc?
