Thanks for the info people, looks like I do have Premium sound.

Premium Sound - How Good Is It
I am pretty disapointed with the so called Premium sound in my XR6T, I had pretty much the same setup in my previous car (aftermarket Pioneer) and there is just no comparison - diamonds to dogsh*t as someone else said already; the dogsh*t being the Premium sound. I would rather not have the colour screen and have more/better quality sound. As soon as I sell my old car I will be visiting the car stereo shop to see what can be done to enhance the sound (I know the head unit can't be replaced, maybe change/add some amps and change the speakers). I don't want to win any sound-off comps just want better and louder sound. After looking through the owners manual last night I'm not even sure that I have Premium sound (I paid extra $900 so I better have:angry: ).. On page 75 it shows a "regular" six stack unit (which looks like what I have) and then on the next page it displays a pic of the Premium/Prestige system whic is different to mine! I have the tweeters in the windscreen pillar and I think I have subwoofer (a bit hard to tell as it's covered in carpet). I'm confused.

Xr6 Handling
According to everything I've read, the XR6T comes standard with 17 inch rims & 235's or optional 18 inch rims and 245's. My mistake, the tyres are indeed 245/40/18. I probably should check the tyre pressure as well, no doubt Ford set it for comfort not for speed.

Lowering Kits
The Herrods kit is sold and fitted through selected Ford (as are other Herrods performance parts) dealers so Ford don't seem to have a problem with it. Herrods seem to be the unofficial HSV of the Ford world.

Manual V Auto
Doesn't the blow off valve relese the pressure of the boost when changing gears in a manual?

Xr6 Handling
After reading all the media hype about the XR6 handling I come away a bit disapointed. Those of you that are regulars here will probably know I've just updated to a BA XR6T sedan from an EB sedan. The EB is lowered with Bilstein shocks on front and Monroe GT gas on rear and 17 x 8 alloys with Nankang 235/45/17 tyres. Swaybars are standard. The XR6T has 18s with the standard Dunlop 235/40/18 tyres. The XR6 is more comfortable to ride in and behaves better over bumps but seems a bit floaty on sweepers (not talkiing high speed, under 100km/h). THe EB is a lot harsher in the ride quality but seems to go more willingly where you point it and less body roll. Maybe the XR6 just needs some better shockies. Maybe I'm expecting too much comparing stock Ford suspension to aftermarket such as Bilstein.

I Pick Up My Xr6t Today!
Thanks for the positive comments guys! I've done about 5 mins work all afternoon LOL! All my work collegues want to look at the car and ask heaps of questions, even the admin girls who wouldn't know the front from the back of a car. Pity they're all fat and ugly other wise I might take them for a ride, if you know what I mean! As for a cruise - I was thinking of maybe going up to Bathurst next Saturday for the GT Nats, any of you guys interested in meeting up and cruising together? A line of XR6s in convoy would look pretty trick I reckon.

I Pick Up My Xr6t Today!
Well, I have it! How fustrating is this having to come back to work for the afternoon when I would much prefer to be out driving my new toy. The salesman was very polite and courteus to me when I rocked up to pick it up. He explained all the features and how they work to me (never had a car with power windows or cruise before!). He said if there were any problems, any squeaks or rattles just let him or the service manger know and he would get it sorted. As it turned out there is a bit of a problem with the cupholder, it wouldn't close properly. The mechanic came out and had a look and said he couldn't fix it and he would order a new one for me. The other (small) gripe I have is that they missed a few bits when they washed it, or rather didn't chamois it off properly, and there are a few greasy fingerprints on the bonnet. When I was waiting to get the cupholder looked at the salesman was telling me about this "company in Melbourne that gets 450kw from a XR6T"! Mmmmmm....might that comapny be Herrods and might that power just be a bit over 300kw, not 450kw I was thinking, I didn't bother to say anything to the sales guy, didn't want to burst his bubble. I was driving back through Civic (Canberra CBD) and got the big thumbs up and a wishful stare from a guy in a red Perigrine kitted AU XR look alike - made me feel 10ft tall!

I Pick Up My Xr6t Today!
I'll try and post some pics later (if I can stop driving it around that is...). It's a red auto with 18s and Premium sound. :licklips: I haven't actually driven an auto tubo before, I test drove a manual one but am getting lazy in my old age and find an auto is less hassle to drive. Not bagging manuals, each to their own I say, whatever floats your boat. I was originally going to get one in Phantom but changed my mind when I saw the red one. Citric Acid is a bit too 'in your face' for me, white was a bit too conserative, didn't like the green, Narooma Blue's not bad, Blueprint is a bit too common now and the charcoal grey has never really appealed to me.

Anyone Seen A Citric Acid Xr?
There's a Citric n/a XR6 lives up the road from me. I have the same opinion that it stands out but is not my cup of tea.

Aftermarket Audio
Can the speakers in BA be changed does anyone know? I need to know ASAP because I pick up my BA next week and want to remove the Pioneer 6x9 4ways, 6" splits and amps from my current car, but only if I can use them again in the BA. If I can't I'll save myself $50 or so and just leave them in the car when I sell it.

After 2 Hours It's Still Hot!
I saw a post about this on another forum; a guy checked out 3 or 4 XR6Ts at Summernats and they all had melted clips!

Fpv Xr6t
Mmmmmmm...this thread got a bit off topic. I realise that FPV had a big part of the development of the XR6T I was just wondering if FPV are going to take one and modify it (similar to what HSV do with Holdens) and release as their own. I saw a post by Venom on aus.cars newsgroup a few months ago where he mentioned a 260kw FPV XR6T and was hoping someone might have more info on this. Maybe Ford/FPV will continue to do things as they are and this 260kw version is simply BAII. To go off topic again, are the GT and GT-Ps going to have FPV badges? It doesn't look like it from the few GT pics I've seen so far. I don't really care that much myself (other people get pretty emotional about it...), as long as we have a kick arse car that has a Ford badge on it I don't care what other badges it has or hasn't got!
