Hi Everyone. Not sure how this thread will go. At work yesterday myself and 6 of my colleagues took delivery of 4 T's and 2 Xr8's. It was like a ballet in the carpark, Ford and Lease rep going around paperwork here and there heheh. Onlt problem was that when each of us pulled the bonnet latch every Fuse Cover came off the dash in each car. Had a play and clipped back on, so this has been my only disappointment. Other than that, its brillant. Also thanks for a great forum, I know that I am an Xr8 driver, but this site is fantastic for its wealth of knowlege. Regards DrSnooper - soon to change to SILXR8

Well it finally arrived, maynot be an XR6T, but it is still Silver and looks great, sounds great and drives so good. Must be the prem sound cause I have illuminated door switches as well. Starting to sprinkle rain better get it under cover, can't get it wet you know

I agree with Dallas, when I bought my Audi 3 years ago and just sold today for a bad price, XR's between sydney and melbourne. I was so suprised by the service, test drive, take it for a day. When trying to test drive the XR, was like pulling teeth to get at it, and then was on 10 mins around the block. For me product is very important, owned a XB GS many years ago and was great. Will never own an Audi again as mine is 4 years old, fully equiped but is a lemon, after the warranty ran out, everything starts to go wrong, sss box fails, drive shaft, power steer, my wallet is still burning. Bring on the company XR

rapt I would think that your warranty would take a hike

I seem to remeber a thread some time ago about the throttle go to full all on its own, and putting a member into a gutter or something and the dealer couldn't find any faults. I saw that JB in the ozemail car on Sunday had a simliar problem.

Hi Everyone What seems to be the issues with the brakes on the XR, before I ordered my XR8, I went for a test drive and asked about the brakes and the sales rep, had me gone down a quite steep hill hit 70 and hit them. The thing stopped on a pin, I did this about 10 times and it was great and was with the standard brake package. He also got me to drive right through and over a small roundabout a few times to show how the suspension held up. I now know not to buy demos :D

I was there the other week, not sure if it was street legal when I saw it. The sales rep reckoned that it didnt even have a chip, so no rev limiter or anything. Was done up was a XC Cobra, white, blue stripes, shaker sort out of the bonnet.

Ken Wow you do have an array of materials, well be sure to look into them for when my HgAg arrives on Friday week. You just have the standard wheels don't you. So the eagle cleaner is ok on them.
-
BrentS I get my XR soon as I am definately worried with the problems reported. Can anyone recommend a good warranty dealer on the north shore, thinking about taking it to Alto Ford, even though it wasn't purchased there, but is close to work.

Another product I have used for my current german vehicle soon to be sold is mothers wheel cleaner for brake dust, its very good. There are two types of cleaner one for mag and alloys. I think one is chemical based and one is not. I have just gone for the standard 17" wheels. what do you recommend as a wheel cleaner.

Hi Everyone Not sure if this has been discussed before, so sorry if it has. About to take delivery of my new ride and wondering what everyone is using out there to clean their ride. Washing mix have used heaps, I like turtle wax, but use a polish that I used to use when I had my show car a few years ago. It is called CARLACK 68. I have only seen it in auto paint shops and some specialized places. What do you use DrSnooper

On Order, born Sept 23rd, expecting early Oct. Merc Silver XR8, leather, sunroof, premium sound, sss, boot liner, boot scuff guard, window tint, reversing sensors, headlight and bonnet protectors. - sweeeeettt dude. Saw 2 Silver T's this morning and 1 XR8 yesterday

I'm getting mine as a facilities car, hehehe. I manage about 15km's a day from home to work. Mine will be leased as a company car, I pay roughly $350 per fortnight for everything. could never afford it if it was retail cause there is a huge difference in price between retail and fleet.

I think that he should also ban car racing, because if a 30 second commercial make people speed, imagine a 12 hour race. What a load of crud, we are paying more taxes, getting over governed more and more everyday, and we still get treated like kiddy kids.

I orderd my XR8 on Monday, should have it in 3 to 4 weeks. will check out the bay then.
-
Thanks again for the feedback, but I've changed again and will be joining the HgAg crew, I think that stands for Mercury Silver, doesn't stand out as much and it is a company car. has a more refined look :D Have to get a new cardigan now heeh

Hi Everyone, Well the evening has arrived before I order my new Falcon. I have decided to go for an XR8 auto, premium sound, leather, sunroof in either Silhouette or Blood Orange, I would pick the orange no problems but my wife is unsure of the color. The decision to go XR8 was only because the car will be a novated car and is about $20 a week more for the 8. I hope to be able to join you on one of your club days in the future for a day out. Colors, Colors decisions. Regards DrSnooper (Tony)
