  1. Happy Birthday Treay!

  2. Happy Birthday Treay!

  3. Happy Birthday Treay!

  4. Yeah I'm just over it. Purchased high pressure and high temp o rings today and put some heat shielding up to mount it on as the location it is in that little filter gets sh*t hot!. Took it for a drive with a combination of stop start and open road over 2 hours and it still had no leaks so I'm hoping its fixed. I didn't have time to wash the engine bay today as I had to get back to work ASAP so with another 500 trip ahead of me I parked it up as is til I get back next week. Then ill give it a big going over. Cheers guys.
  5. What an epic week. I punched a shock through the tower on my f truck so had to fix it after work lastnight before heading across to Newcastle to pick the trailer up and then load the g6 on and head to liverpool for these repairs to be repaired. Hit a Roo on my way home so my f truck has a slightly dented bar and my led light bar was left dragging along the road (still works though!). Picked the trailer up when I finally got to Newcastle and then headed to my place to pick up the g6... The bloody ramps were too short to get my car on!. Returned the trailer to find out I won't get a cent of my $140 back despite only having it for 1hr. So stuff it. Ill just let the workshop off the hook and get it fixed in Newcastle!. I just pulled the oil filter apart and the O ring was squashed so bad it was cut practically right through!. Think ill order the earls filter and fit it after all. Think ill just get some sleep for now as my head isn't right at the moment!. All that for a bloody o ring and probably a temporarily stuck footfall valve! Haha
  6. Yeah I plan to drive it around and test it out properly... (hopefully without fine or incident!). I'm sure they are happy with their work but perhaps not too keen on the re-work. He didn't specifically say "Don't bring it back" he just asked if I had someone local that can do it as its an easy fix and would be cheap to do, but I have had experiences in the past where people have totally screwed me over so I'd be taking it back just on the principal of the issue. although I will spend my money to go buy them more royal purple oil just to ensure it is the same oil being replaced if they need to. I have some pics but don't think I have a shot of the actuater rod, I'll check (I'm at work so cant take more shots.) but when I load it up on the trailer Friday night I'll take more then and post (If I'm awake enough to remember haha) only pics I have in that region at present are as follows: (taken on Sunday Night) http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t167/treay81/IMG_1358_zpsce182c50.jpg or http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t167/treay81/IMG_1359_zps24e4399f.jpg but it doesn't give anything away as the actuator is kind of hidden there. cheers.
  7. Well, he didn't sound real keen on me taking it back at all and was trying to convince me to take it to a local workshop as he thinks it would be a very cheap fix, But I insisted on taking it back to them just in case there is more to it, that way we know that only their workshop has touched it and they can be sure it is their responsibility rather than mixing it up with a few shops and leaving it a little grey as to who may own any defects from it. Its never easy is it!.
  8. I spoke to the workshop this morning, they said if I can get the car back to them on Saturday morning they will fix the oil leak. He thinks the intermittent boost problems is something wrong with the intercooler piping. So instead of stuffing around I am going to order the Herrod and process west piping kit to have installed when I get there (at additional cost of course). So, another huge day in store for me this Friday as I am 500 odd kays from home (480 I think) and once home I'll load the car onto the trailer and get it to Sydney ready for open hours in the morning, once fixed I'll trailer it home then give it a going over to make sure its running again before my wife takes it back out west again. (Fingers crossed!) cheers.
  9. I thought Blacktrack had closed?, that's why I went to Sydney as I was told they were no longer operating...
  10. well, hopefully the workshop will check everything over prior to giving it back to me as I'm very nervous about the situation. Apparently they know their stuff so I shouldn't have anything to worry about but I seem to have bad luck! haha. Engine bay is a little dirty hey! haha. I do between 80 - 100K kms a year spread between my cars and a lot of that driving is out bush so they tend to get a tad dirty, but I always keep the mechanicals well serviced and try to run with high quality stuff (all of them run Royal Purple oils etc.) I'm not pissed at the workshop or anything, its obviously just a badly seated seal or o-ring etc, can happen to anyone, just hope they are willing to help me out without having to fight them over it!. on the bright side, glad It played up so early in so its easy to pin point and didn't do any major damage in the process (that I know of at this point! lol) I'll let you guys know how this goes!. cheers.
  11. Oil is leaking from the new filter they installed which is an aftermarket setup as per pics. It is mounted on the front of the rocker cover and hooked up to braided line. I'm guessing the aftermarket filter is stuffed. I'll call the workshop tomorrow and see what they think. im just dreading the thought of getting it fixed here in Newcastle and then having the turbo go again in the near future!. think I'll just wait til I knock off and get back to Newcastle then trailer it back to Sydney to have it done. cheers.
  12. Ok, so had it trailered home and have just put it up in my shed and inspected it with engine idling, sure enough there is oil constantly dripping from the new oil line fitted to the car by the workshop I just had it at. They fitted the speedflow filter and braided line, it must be a faulty part or something, I dont have time to investigate at present as I need to get to sort (500kms away) but I'll give the shop a call in the morning and explain it to them see what we can work out. I dont even know when I'll next be able to get it back to Sydney to get the work done, might just be easier to bite the bullet and get a local workshop to do it rather than trailer it down there again. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t167/treay81/IMG_1354_zpsbab0a7d6.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t167/treay81/IMG_1355_zps422ef5cd.jpg it wouldnt let me post pics but above are some links to my photobucket, just pics of the new oil line and filter. Does anyone think there could have been any damage occur during this little oil leak?... and any thoughts on why it would stop boosting with an oil leak?... appreciate some thoughts on the subject as im not a turbo guy, I am a V8 guy, straight forward and simple...like me haha. cheers.
  13. Ok just to throw a spanner in the works. I done a u turn to go back home and now the turbo is boosting again!. Still doesn't help the problem overall but I can't think why this would be happening. All the pipe work fittings appear to be intact and connected, I can't even identify where the oil is coming from?...
  14. Hi guys, Need some advice, had a Sydney based workshop replace the core in my turbo last week and once completed it was driven home to my house, ontop of the turbo repairs they also installed a braided line with external oil filter for the turbo It's done about 200kms since being done and I am in the middle of nowhere, my engine isn't boosting and my engine bay is covered in oil, I can't hear the turbo grinding or screeching so I'm thinking its not stuffed yet, but I am unsure as to why it is not boosting. I'm going to attempt to drive it home again, but curious to see why your initial thoughts are on my potential problems. Appreciate input.
  15. CHeers trent. I got onto the guys from CMS. going to take it there and just get it done. now I just need to work out how im going to do that as they wont be open when I drop the car off. I'll just be happy to have it running sweet again.
