  4. Hey all.. its coming up to mod season and I think ill need a little help in the right direction. now, being on the forums like everyday, I've sat back and read a lot of posts and I think ive figured out what I need to get started: - Liquid LPG is hopefully completely fitted by Wednesday - Once that's done, straight onto RAPIDs V3 kit - Custom tune, lookin at around 12psi with 12psi actuator - Zorst, im not too sure with just yet, maybe using the stocky and removing centre muffler, 3.5" dump etc. im lookin at gettin into the 300s, anything over that I'll be stoked! what other things do u reckon ill need to get to that stage, and what things should I consider when doing the above work? cheers.
  5. turboworm.. hows your set up goin mate? I wouldnt mind a look at it when u got everything up n running properly.
  6. awesome thanks for the info, im waiting for a kit to be ordered in for the liquid system so hopefully shouldnt be too long b4 its up n running. can I use a guage for fuel though?
  7. I spoke to a few people about the differences between the 2 systems, a few installers believe the vapour injection is the way to go and the the liquid lpg caused problems for a lot of cars in Europe but I just wanna know peoples views on this because I'm converting soon and I need to know what system will be best for my BA XR6T. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be good! Also, any pro's and con's on both systems would be helpful too. And another thing, is it possible to use an external fuel gauge instead of using the stupid light system for the gas set ups? cheers in advance guys
  8. A&M Automotive in VIC do the conversions, but they're booked out til Feb, does anyone else know where else I can get it done kind of sooner?
  9. Hey all, I rang up a company recently in VIC to enquire about Liquid LPG conversions for the Ts and the bloke said its $5k - $2k rebate = $3k out of pocket. Also an average of 18rwkw gain on the conversion. Now being tax time, that's an investment im willing to take as I dont want to lose the T as fuel prices are going higher and higher. (only 5% more consumptive than fuel is a bonus as opposed to 15 - 20% on normal LPG) My question is, has anyone got this new setup? if so, are there any problems that you've noticed?
  10. nice thanks for the help
  11. oh ok... im in VIC, wheres a good place I can go to for a spending spree?
  12. OK... so I put a new 3" pipe from the pod to the xover and that helped a bit because I was getting alot of heat soak the way I had it before with the snorkel. with the CAPA flash tuner, if I bought one, would I be able to do all the magical tuning stuff myself, or would I still need a mech to do it for me? EDIT: because I found this one on ebay that was already programmed CAPA Flash Tuner Includes 3 performance tunes: Tune 1 - Valet tune: * 3,000 rpm limiter Tune 2 - 95 octane performance tune: * BA-BF 6 cylinder: 5-10kw @ wheels increase * BA-BF XR8: 10-15kw @ wheels increase * BA-BF XR6T (8 psi): 35-40kw @ wheels increase Tune 3 - 98 octane performance tune: * BA-BF 6 cylinder: 10-15kw @ wheels increase * BA-BF XR8: 15-20kw @ wheels increase * BA-BF XR6T (10 psi): 45-50kw @ wheels increase
  13. done im doin that first... would it still do the same with a longer pipe? the airbox is completely removed already when I put in the pod... so should be a 5 min job!
  14. haha nah they're not mine dude, just some randoms on youtube that I picked up..that's what I want!! note-to-self: installing a boost controller on the weekend! RSPEC - your car sounds bangable!! I saw this vid a couple nights ago and nearly creamed. TOP JOB!!
  15. can I do that manually (with the stocker I have) without going off n gettin a boost controller (if u couldnt tell im newish to turbo's)
  16. hey all did the $4 el-cheapo way and done a few things with my BOV. 1 - did the vented BOV with the mini air filter (no too bad not quite what I was after though) 2 - blocked the BOV (better option but still not what I wanted) guys, just curious... I know a few members here have a better sounding setup. the sound it makes now is like a long flutter but very quick intervals (blocked), the sound I was after is a heap louder with much longer intervals between flutters, kind of how the VL muzza's have..(without the dose pipe of course). I'll get to the point:- is there a way I could do that with my stock parts? I have a K&N poddy if that helps LIKE THIS... OR THIS any help would be awesome.. thanks peeps
  17. Hey guys!! Well, I just gave birth to a BA XR6T, I was in intense labour for several years but its finally out and MINE! Wat a joy it is though, just picked it up this afternoon and smiled the whole way home! going from 1.8 to 2 ltr little pieces of crap, bout time I stepped up as a man. I just got a few questions though guys. 1 - Views on ethanol based fuels in the T? (performance & maintenance) 2 - Views on 91 octane unleaded? 3 - quick fix tips for sound (I.e the ridiculously quiet plumback system needs to go) and performance 4 - just general pointers as im fairly new to the XR6s if u could help that would be awesome! Cheers
