  1. So didja find out what the colour is didja? Cameron
  2. I have an Update, Work Progresses, and the brakes have been fixed. The wiring loom running under the bottom of the dashboard had been moved during the course of the work in Melbourne and was in fact applying downward pressure to the brake pedal so that the pedal was in the "applied" position whilst driving. Putting your foot behind the pedal and lifting it towards the driver would temporarily stop this problem. This problem is being (has been) fixed today. Thank goodness for Cable ties I am waiting on the rest ...... Thanks all. Cameron
  3. The Audio system in the BA Fairmont Ghia Loan car had exactly the same number of speakers that the Premium Audio in mine XR Falcon does. that being seven. Where some salesmen have been getting confused is counting two way and three way speakers and being somehow separate. Ie the speakers in the doors are reportedly two way speakers and therefore as per this list It becomes Two tweeters in the left and right A pillars. = 2 Two midrange + two tweeter elements in the front doors = 4 Two midrange + two tweeter elements in the rear parcel shelf = 4 Subwoofer = 1 2 + 4 + 4 + 1 = 11 If the front speakers are the only two ways in the car then obviously this drops to 2 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 9 In my opinion if you start counting two and three way speakers and being separate then you are really being picky! My KB Laser Turbo had 6" three ways in the front doors, 6" three ways in the rear doors, 7x10" threeways in the rear parcel shelf (hatch) and two 12" subwoofers ie 6 + 6 + 6 + 2 =20 ! if you use the above method of counting Cameron
  4. Just Hurry up and find out what colour it is, I am quite intrigued now! I am assuming it isn't an XR series Cameron
  5. If you Stay on the Pacific Highway From Hornsby, via Mt Colah, and then Berowra, you will pass the Old Toll gates and Heavy vehicle checking station at the Cowan and Brooklyn turnoff. If you find yourself on the freeway you have gone too far....... Cameron
  6. As an interesting aside, I sat in a BMW 330ci the other day, yes I know I was dreaming as it is a lot more than 65k ! THe Harmon Kardon system in that car really kicks  Pity that there isn't a true stereo system like that available in the Ford's Cameron
  7. What's HgAg again? I keep forgetting Cameron
  8. Current colours as listed on the www.ford.com.au Falcon section. Vibe = Black May '04 Blueprint = Blue Silhouette = Black Phantom = Purple Lighning Strike = Silver Vixen = Red Luscious = Burgundy Envi = Light Green Citric Acid = Yellow / Green (see Poll) Winter White = White HgAg = You know what this is! Offshore = LIght blue Blue Pearl = Dark Blue Zest = Gold / possible dirt! Mandarin = Light Orange May '04 Harvest Green = Dark Green Im not sure what colour your neighbour has but I really can't see where it fits in that list! Interseted to see the first one in the flesh at least wonder how different it is to Silhouette! Cameron
  9. Counting the ones in my car, and by this I mean actual speakers as opposed to twoway vs threeway etc THere are two tweeters - Left and right A pillars Two speakers in the Front Doors Two speakers in the Rear Parcel Shelf and finally the subwoofer in the rear parcel shelf. FOr a grand total of seven. I have heard that the system is made by everyone from Clarion, to Phillips to Sansui, so I guess you can take your pick and guess! Cameron!
  10. Premium Brake vote for me..... None of the other things are primary safety. The rest are all cosmetic, and assuming that you aren't going to EVER have more money to spend on the car (brakes stereo or whatever) you should always go for the best and safest options first. IMHO. Cameron
  11. Thanks Cro, I will let you know what happens tomorrow (monday) afternoon. Looks like I am going to have a long day ahead of me. Cameron
  12. Hey Mondie, I've just handed back to Ford (stupidly as it turns out) the Ford Australia BA Fairmont Ghia in Offshore, and I have a picture here too attached..... For a luxury colour Offshore is fine in my opinion, remembering that Luxury cars aren't normally stand outs in the colour department. Cameron
  13. Basically I have to wait until Monday for anything to happen. I've had to cancel my university course because I have no appropriate or affordable transport on such short notice. Therefore because I cannot attend I have been forced to withdraw from the subject, so there goes a couple thousand in HECS fees. Still Monday will come, and I will once again make my feelings known to the dealer, and I will more than likely still be doing it at the end of the week as well. Thanks for all your thoughts, (and sucked in comments to coz I know you are out there  ) Cameron
  14. If I'd been watching this thread earlier I could have posted a picture of my car! THankfully beaten to it (despite my car really me off right now) Still the article whilst short does tell everyone where to go! Cameron
  15. Oh btw Cameron
  16. Weekends are nice, everyone gets to go home and relax, cept the poor sap with a car that doesn't work, and needs certain Ford people to get things done! Jeffing Hell! I bet if I was 2 months late paying Ford for the car, then id have lawyers crawling up my Doesn't work the other way round now does it Ford! :cussing: :middlefingerred: Off to do something about organising a hit man or two or three! Cameron
  17. Got Wood Geea? Just make sure you do! Cameron
  18. G'day All, Just back home after waiting 90 minutes for a tow truck after the brakes on my XR decided that being on whilst driving forward without brake pedal pressure was an extraordinarily good idea, I've thought about how to contact Ford AUstralia and in the end chose the "Contact Us" link on the www.ford.com.au website. I sent them this: I wonder what kind of (or lack of) response I will get. Any Bright Ideas? and no burning it or crashing it or writing it off is not an option! Cameron
  19. Thanks Mondie and all.... I reckon somewhere I've squashed a black cat with this car or something! Its been towed on a flatbed with all the brakes locked on to the dealer now at 1am in the morning! Go Ford Roadside Assist! I think I hereby swear not to post any information on my car in the forum again! Everytime I think I am getting somewhere the dopey car does something else! Everyone else should thank me (well except Cro and some others perhaps) coz the Karma gods certainly have given me all the -ve Karma! Off to look at Used cars online around $60k! P.S find a big bit of wood people and touch it (and I don't mean that "wood" Ken or HgAg Minions) before reading all of this thread. Cameron Hexed! or cursed
  20. Well firstly to the good news I am now reempowered with 240kw of power, but the problem in the Stereo doesn't seem to have been fixed. The noise is still present and is as bad as ever with the volume set between 5 and 20 on the premium sound. I haven't yet been able to test it with my iPod plugged in so I have to reserve judgement on whether that area has improved. The problem that Has arisen on the drive home, is that the car stops all by itself on level ground or downhill. THe handbrake is not applied, and the dash board light is not on. ALthough the handbrake does need to be adjusted. The car stops so quickly its more likely to be the front brakes, and after pumping the brakes the car makes sounds like scraping. If you don't pump the brakes it judders like you would if under heavy braking. THe braking force is simliar to a normal stop from 60km/h nothing too extreme, but it does make the car work hard to move along......... (32l/100km shown on the Trip computer (18km trip home) SO before I go and run around like madman, anyone got some ideas? Cameron
  21. Or if I read postings properly I would see that in fact neither CJF077 or KEN24T is in the photo! Cameron
  22. SO this means that the 2nd one from the left has to be ? Damn I was only trying to stir Ross up but you've already corrected me! I do notice that Doesn't happen to be in the photo! Cameron
  23. Just noticing the great new look of the site and I've seen the cars on the top of the page here..... Im just wondering who's cars they are and also what colours you reckon from left to right! Narooma Blue, Mercury Silver, Silouette, Phantom, Blood Orange, Blueprint, Vixen, Blueprint, Mercury Silver, and Blueprint right down the back there! Cameron
  24. 21st August 2003 for me! Still waiting for it back however Cameron
