It's up to you what you end up doing, but even driving sensibly if another d*ckhead crashed into and your driving a car you shouldn't be, could the blame fall back on yourself so driving something you shouldn't? that's one thing I'd be worried about. I got mine when I was 21 and was stoked to have it (Still Am) and it was well worth the wait. Insurance is actually reasonable and you can drive legally without being paranoid about getting pulled over!
  2. I think I've done alright with mine, its done just over 48k and its an 03. Mind you I did get it a year ago with just 36k on it, theres no point having a car and not driving it just because you dont wanna put kms on it!

  5. Does anyone notice a difference in fuel economy between different fuels? Eg. Shell V Power and BP Ultimate? Reason I'm asking is I've had some pretty poor tanks the last couple fills, getting around 15.5L/100 and a worst last night of 15.7 and that was a pretty easy tank too! These last few tanks I've been using V Power but I'm pretty sure when I was using BP I was getting around 14 - 14.2?

I have an 03 with the auto, leather, premium sound with 48k on the clock and I'd have to agree by looking at prices lately, I reckon if I got about 20k - 22k id be doing extremely well and would be suprised if I could get anything more! (You should do a little better with your kms I would think) The scary thing would be trading it in on a new FG, wouldn't like to know how much or little they would be willing to give me, although I think I'll have to take one for a drive one day!

I've modded a few xboxs over the years and am half decent at soldering if that is required.
  8. I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on how they went about the powersupply for the xbox? I'd rather not use an inverter if it's going to add additional audio / visual noise because I know it will just give me the sh*ts like if you use an FM transmitter on an ipod to play it through the speakers. I would really like to get an xbox installed especially after seein this setup, plus I can get an xbox off a friend that has hardly been used!

  10. I have a flash tuner which when using the performance tunes the auto shifts noticeably harder due to increased line pressure. I like this from a performance point of view as the shifts also seem quicker, but I assumed this would kill the box quicker then having the standard shifts with lower line pressure. I was reading something here the other day which said that increasing the line pressure and making the shifts firmer would increase the life of the box... Does this sound right? Or is it just a load of BS to try and sell more of their products?
  11. Hi all, just wondering how you guys went about changing the fuel filter? I had a look at mine this arvo and was going to do it, but the bracket around the filter looks like it is riveted on. It also looks like the fuel lines would get in the way of the filter if you just undone the filter and tried to slide it out of the bracket. I didn't want to try it only to find out I would have to bend the fuel lines to get the filter out so just curious to how you all went about it. I'd rather drill the rivet out and get it that way, but the thing is a pain in the ass to get right under! Thanks.
  12. Yeh that xbox would be chipped, you can't do much to the interface on a standard xbox. Looks like it is running xbox media centre or player as the interface if I'm not wrong. You can change the interface / skins that are run on the xbox and theres quite a few application you can put on it too. It's a very nice setup, think I will be looking into doing this myself seeing as I have an xbox just sitting around gathering dust!
  13. The thing is though, it was doing it standard and with the 8 psi tune. When I changed from standard to the 8 psi tune I did notice it missing and was a lot more noticeable then what is happening now, but I put in plugs gapped around 0.8 and this fixed the problem. I'm in the Albury / Wodonga area and I dont really think there is anyone around that really know these cars apart from Ford... I could be wrong though and would be good if there was somewhere around that knows these cars without having to travel to melbourne. As for the dealer I took one of the mechanics for a drive and he could notice it so I gotta go back there today after work and they said they might get me to take it to the Ford dealer next door and they will just pay to get it fixed. Just gotta wait and see, gonna keep on them as I want it done under warranty as theres other things id rather buy for my car then having to replace some coil packs!
  14. Took my car to the dealer today to get looked at under warranty and just got a call back from them. They reckon there is nothing wrong with my car!!! They were saying the mechanics just said it was the turbo lag. Even when the turbo is coming on it should still run smooth, just the power won't be coming in as hard. Bloody hopeless, there is definately something there, although not overly obvious, it was enough that me and dad could tell that it isn't running right.
  15. If only I had noticed the miss when I changed the spark plugs then I could have looked at the coil packs then. It's kind of suprising seeing these kind of problems occurring with cars with only this many kms. It has probably been doing it for the couple months ive had the car. I bought it second hand from a local Expensive Daewoo dealer pretty much 3 months ago so I went and seen them and it's booked in there to get looked at. They said it should be covered by warranty as it also has the Expensive Daewoo extended warranty. The only thing is they will most likely only replace the faulty coil(s) packs so I might have to pay to get the others done at the same time. I should at least save a few dollars doing it this way anyways.
  16. Yeh I checked with a feeler gauge to make sure they were right. They were 0.75 I think, if not they were 0.8. I got them to suit the BF though, not the BA. The BA's have the 1.1 gap standard like the standard plugs I pulled out of it.
  17. Yeh, was kinda thinking that after having a bit of a read. It's just the cars only just ticked over 40,000kms which I thought was kinda low to have them start failing!!! Do you have any idea how much they will be each?
  18. Hi all, I have had my 03 XR6 Turbo for a couple months now and I have been running an 8psi tune on the car for the past few weeks. When I was running this tune I did notice it start missing a little bit higher in the rev range, but I still had the standard plugs in. I changed the plugs to some NGK irridium ones, (for a BF XR6 Turbo which were already gapped to around 0.75 - 0.. This fixed the miss under load. Over the past few days I have noticed a bit of a weird miss driving down the highway to work. Its not very noticeable in 4th at 110, but if I drive it in 3rd and slow down to 80 and accelerate a little bit back up to 110 you can notice the car missing. I tried the stock tune earlier tonight and it was doing the same thing. I can't remember the car doing this before I put the new tune / spark plugs in, but then its seemed to become more noticeable over the past week or so. So I may not have noticed it happening because it wasn't as bad then. I have looked around the forum and just wondering if this sound slike it could be the coil packs failing? I was thinking about putting the standard plugs back in to see if it would do the same thing but was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what it could be?
