Auto, Not by choice, the wife doesn't have a manual licence. But at least, now we can have the best of both worlds. :D

Hmmm, Let's be realistic. Who would like to see this....ALL OF US!!!!! Truth would be, it's not going to happen, well not for a few years yet anyway. The BA GT has just been released. For a GTHO, where is the money in it? This would be something they would save as the flagship of all the FPV vehicles. 3-5 years away would be realistic, sure, then they can be the money grabbers just before the next generation of Falcon is released. That would make more sense looking at a corporate point of view, save the best for last. The BA is kicking serious arse out there in the market, I can see yet another "Series I/Series II/Series III" pattern developing again, can't you guys? Long live the King "Ford". And they will, they just needed a wake up call.

I kinda feel bad that I'm not getting a sunroof. Hopefully the supply will be there asap to meet the demand for all you guys. Don't really see the point personally, I just hope they are top quality and don't cause rust problems in the future for your pride & joy. Prev. Ford sunrooves have been, hmmm, not the best. I remember thinking about buying an EL XR6 with every feature/add on you could think of but ended up going for the AU XR6 VCT. There were bubbles under the paint forming ALREADY on the EL, only had 80,000 on the clock??? Have you experienced the air conditioning in the BA's? 10 settings from a mild breeze to "Holy S**t,,,Brrrr" Car cools down in 30 seonds easily. I suppose there is one advantage, easy access for giving a HSV driver "the bird" after you leave them in a cloud of dust. I'm still hoping my XR-6 will be arriving in Brisbane mid December. Just in time for Christmas and 2 weeks to run the bugger in. Hope everything works out well for you all

In general though, At least Ford only have associations with Mazda, not: Opel Mitsu Isuzu Chev/GMH Anyway, Fords rock, Expensive Daewoo have finally met their match. Bathurst will be interesting come 2003/2004. Go the BA series!!!! Ford set out to make a "Make it or break it" last effort to create a winning design, not just a car to match Holden's Late model camira series but to exceed most other car manufacturer standards. They have achieved this. If you are getting a XT, Futura, XR6, XR6T, XR8 or Fairmont, good on you. Excellent choice I say. Best Family car and Best Sports car under $57,000, gotta be happy with that. The blue oval forever.
-
Hmmm, was there any doubt? Where was Holden/HSV, oh that's right, nowhere!!!!! They did win best mid-sized car under $25,000, the Expensive Daewoo Astra "City". LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Holden. :D

DZ, Narooma and Blueprint are f**king sweet as well. Trust me. As I've said, my wife is a purple freak, therefore I have no choice but I love the Phantom as well so it's not an issue. You have to come up to Brisbane and see some of these beauties. I know you said you don't have the time but think or your sister and your sanity. Deal with a real dealorship!
-
Dude, It's sitting there still, I sware Bryan Byrt Ford have placed the Phantom XR there just to p*ss me awf every time as they know I drive past on Mt Gravatt/Capalaba Rd every day. I'm surprized nobody has taken off with it. I would have but the damn thing does not have the Prem. stereo installed and they will not install one as there is a risk factor involved. Color LCD screen will mess up if the unit is tipped on an angle, can you believe it? I want my XR Anyway, yep, Blue oval forever!!!!!!!!Have to keep ahead of these HSV (Heavy Slow Vehicle) rejects. Or have we already, hmmm $51,000 HSV XU6....the xt beats it hands down???....lol, Yay Holden!!!
-
Hey DZ, seen any XR's yet?
-
Hey Surreal, Let me be one of the first to welcome you. Dude, I'm a bit older, 31 and I cannot afford one, Just a little out of my reach, but I do have a Phantom Purple BA XR-6 on order. Loved fords since the Moffatt glory days of Bathurst, well I'm not that old but lets say my first car was a Monza Red XC-Hardtop. Currently drive a black AU III XR6 VCT. nearly 20,000 on the clock and it's trade in time : ). EF-XR6? Knew a guy not that long ago that just off loaded a imperial green EL XR-6 for $16,000, nothing wrong with it, low kms. Tax rideoff kinda deal...lol. Few weeks earlier and you could have had a s**t hot XR. I'm sure some of the dudes in this forum will know pleanty of contacts. Your A Ford freak, therefore all of us other Ford Freaks will only be too happy to help. I'll ask around. Catcha. B)

Hey richdave, Yes, the pics are good, best I've seen so far. Seeing it with your own eyes is the only way to appreciate the colour, the best camera in the world would not do Phantom Purple justice!!!!!!!!! Sunlight brings out the brilliance of the rich metallic purple, night time, hmmmm. I'm glad my wife insisted in going for the Phantom now, was going to go for Blueprint or Narooma Blue. Back to the differences between stock models. XR-6 T has rear power windows, "T U R B O" written on the back, LSD and that's about it. Oh yeah, and the turbo......lol
-
Told you guys it's to die for..................... Immortal words of Homer J Simpson....."M M M M P H A N T O M". You really have to see one up close, even though it looks pretty awesome in these picks, and they are decents pics Richdave, I have not seen a photo to date that does this colour any justice. I had to see one with my own eyes as I'm ordering my XR, just didn't make a decision on the colour, seeing it made my decision very easy......... I'M GETTING ONE, HURRY UP MID/LATE DECEMBER!!!!

Hey CJF077, I call it boredom and hating my job more like it....lol.
-
NP dude, Only too happy to help out another XR addict. Hence the name, "ED-AU" and soon to be a..........MMM, BA Phantom XR Ask for Ben Ruxton. Call him "Whistler" (so he knows who reffered you) :D "Wayne & Jodie". every $100.00 cheque helps. BBF are the only dealorship where I have seen ANY XR-6's in Brisbane, they have a 'Phantom' right out front in all it's full glory. I'd expect it will not lat there too long. Ben is probably one of the best reps I've ever done business with.
-
Hey CJF077 "Hey I got it right", sorry dude. Suffering from a problem between the keyboard and my chair......"me"! Sweet!!!!!!! Gives me something to read while I talk to wank.....Oops I mean clients Ahhhh...........Excellent ammo for these HSV loving additional dipstick in drivers seat type of people here @ work. Cheers.
-
OK, one more. Hey DZ. Sooooo true...AMEN brother!!! If you manage to get up to Brisbane, go to Bryan Byrt Ford. At any time they have 3 standard XR-6's on the floor. They had a black XR ute there last week.....nice. Last Friday they had a Demon and Phantom XR-6. If you want to see a standard XR up close and take a demo for a spin. call them, 9 Tryon St (Cnr Mt Gravatt-Capalaba Rd) Telephone (07) 3347 9900 Ask for Whistler. "Ben". They may have a XR-6T in very soon.
-
Arrggghh, not having a good day, have the richdave syndrome, sorry dudes. Time to stop posting!
-
Hey CFJ007, "HSV" Heavy Slow Vehicle, thought it was quite obvious : )
-
yay...............cannot speek th' english, good one.
-
Hell yeah, If my ED looked half as hot, I'd be keeping it. At least as a work car. Was quite impress on the work you had done on that EB-XR. Excellent job. : )
-
LOL As my Ford salesperson so nicely put it as I was test driving a BA XR-6. "Why were Holden's created"? "To keep the d**kheads from driving Fords".......Simple and direct yet so truthful. The BA's won me. Cannot wait to druel over the 2003 GT, one series of wallpaper images this little black duck will not get tired of Well one can dream can't he? I know someone that has ordered one. Be worth it just for the grand tour of THE Factory of dreams.
-
RichDave, Couldn't have said it better myself, so I won't. Fords last campaign to fight Expensive Daewoo with a new killer Falcon has been a rolling success. The Blue oval still lives and will continue to do so. I loved the last addition of "Wheels". That pretty much said it all. The BA beat the VY in practically every category.
-
We are still living in the dark ages here in canetoad land. Some of the Ford dealerships here will say "XR"? "BA"? "Turbo"? "HUH"? I even have had certain dealers, not mentioning names say that they would not even have the standard XR-6 on show until 2003. Finally seen a Phantom Purple last Friday. Only been waiting how long?
-
Guys, I'm awaiting to see one in Brisbane PERIOD!! I'm green with envy. I'm promised a test drive as soon as Bryan Byrt Ford (BNE) have one. Think there will be a queue a mile long up here. I know people have placed orders and will not see their new "Heavy Slow Vehicle" tearing XR6T until March/april. Makes me wish I was living in Melb and never moved up here.
-
Hey there, Shouldn't be a problem, depends on how advanced the XR is on the production line, just call your dealer. One thing I found out, with the AU series, they could dis-assemble the dash and install the premium upgrade. They won't with the BA due to the risk factor. If the unit gets tipped upside down. 'Bye bye' colour LCD Just don't roll your XR!!! BTW, hey all, I'm only new at this, been a Ford freak since my first beast, 78 XC GS coupe, nothing too flash but lets say she had enough induction on a 4.1 crossflow and hmmm. Not too shabby! Wish I was getting the BA XR-6T, need to be more financial, what I'm getting is a good trade in for our Series III XR6 VCT for a Phantom Purple BA XR-6, actually will cost us $70 less per fortnight. Re-finance of our home loan cancells out the balloon payment so we cannot wait, should be delivered to BNE late December. Catcha's.
