  5. I'm looking at doing a diff gear change, there's no meets we can go to now for 2 weeks unless we go to a closed track day(which is always an option)
  6. Good times Steve, it'll be good to see when your able to use all its potential. Geea. must admit though it pulls great, other than the traction big issue last night everything worked like a dream as soon as I turned it down.
  7. Well guys, we ran it very soft tonight and broke nothing however traction just wasn't there at all, other than the first run I got off it each time as it got loose at half track, and very loose off the line, also almost crossed the centre line twice. However I'm very happy with the night as this was a low as I could tune it down to. Thanks to greg and rob for the help tonight guys and great to meet a few of the members here also.
  8. come up and say gidday
  9. Don't forget that we haven't turned it up yet, though I think you'll find our current record holder wouldn't too far away from that half track either, mind you we're having trouble with it where it is now, hence why it's now turned right down and hopefully we might get a couple of good runs in tonight without breaking another flexplate, I'd be happy to see 100mph at half track and still together. fingers crossed
  10. Steve how did you manage over 130 mph with a broken flex plate? didnt you lift of the throttle Ya it craked the flexplate and made a hugh amount of noise so I lifted and applied the throttle till the noise was the least Steve what was the mid track et and mph? Geea. At half track we'd already eased the throttle so the figures really aren't that accurate, last run 1.511 60 foot 3.891 330foot 6.201 660foot 117.30 mph 660foot 8.593 1000 foot e.t 10.302 mph 131.23 (211.20kph) 27deg 75%h 1013mb 2246ra Track temp 35deg 6.16pm 25-01-2006
  11. it's what joined the motor to the gearbox/convertor, the convertor bolts to the flexplate which bolts to the crankshaft on the motor and the starter motor drives this to start the motor
  12. if it breaks again tommorrow chris and me are having a BBQ
  13. Ya that's why I have them on all my cars and I know no one else does
  14. you gonna have a video there jeff? would be great if you did because I've got no idea how to post video footage
  15. Great work Steve would be great to see the full potential of the beast I'd just be happy to get to the other end and not be ringing for a new flexplate, this is more expensive than fuel
  16. Steve how did you manage over 130 mph with a broken flex plate? didnt you lift of the throttle Ya it craked the flexplate and made a hugh amount of noise so I lifted and applied the throttle till the noise was the least
  17. ok it's fixed once again and back out there tommorrow night, but only very soft runs to start off with

  25. Hi Guys, Ok here's the run down. The car is a streeter and weighs in just over 2 ton after the rollcage etc. we don't remove any weight what so ever and run a 10" slick at the moment. everything works in the car and no items removed. as to the run well 2 runs now and 2 flexplates, I have a video of the run but don't know how to post it, we 60ft 1.511 and almost crossed the centreline so when I eased the throttle off a little a then applied it again the flexplate broke, it's pretty loud on the video and you can see me touch the brakes when it went, mind you I eased back into the throttle as I knew she was going home on the trailer again. we're currently running 18psi of boost into it, however we've tuned it up to 32 psi so this is where I wish to end up. As to the current record holder I take my hat off to him, he did a great run and has the runs on the board. I'm considering putting in a smaller accuattor to lower the boost so that we can get a good run in without breaking something, we'll be back up there on saturday night fixed(fingers crossed) and it's good to know from the pm's I've got that I'm not the only one that's had bad luck with flexplates. thanks for the interest guys and when I've got it sorted out we'll give it a run in both sydney and calder so we can get to meet some of your blokes and maybe talk the current record holder into a fun run.
