damn... some people really dont have any screwples these days. Pity on those that did it and hope they get caught.

I feel sorry for the owners, god only knows what the dealer is going to do for an excuse.

Ever since the BA XR's were released, we have had roughly 30k's worth of stuff go walking at the dealership im at! :smilielol: Wheels mainly, but some winches, snorkels, and batteries have vanished too..... incredible.

I know of a dealer in the Sydney region had a GT stolen from the yard over a weekend. It wasn't missed for a couple of days. This was some time back. They have lost three complete cars out of the yard in the past 12 months. Ya gotta wunda!!!

The dealer we got ours from said 6 sets of XR rims had gone missing, so they resorted to fitting lock nuts to all cars with alloy wheels.

Good idea. Pity our dealer didn't adopt that tactic. :smilielol:

Also in sydney... A new GTP with 340kW was stolen from a Ford dealership about 2 weeks ago.

The car was in for service and was about to be put through the car wash. The mechanic had to jump out to move another car that was in the car wash already.

While this was happening, 2 men of middle eastern appearance, who had been hanging around for some time and weren't asked if they were alright or had been served, jumped in the GTP and drove out.

When the police were called, they searched the car they had come in with (a early Nissan Pulsar) and found it had been hotwired.

The GTP was in for its first service.

I think a sercurity system like that found in the new Subaru WRX's and B4/GT Liberty's (where you have to put in a sercurity number to start the vehicle) should be standard on high performance Fords (e.g. XR6T, XR8, GT, GTP & Pursuits)

Luckily for that dealership the car was found intact and undamaged a few days later near liverpool. Would have loved to hear the explaination the dealer gave that owner.

Can you imaging the thrashing the thing must have had in the time it was out with the thieves?
