February 13, 200422 yr #11 Hey fellas thanks for the feedback. As nice as it would be to have one vehicle to do the towing and also be an every day performance car I am thinking its probably not going to be a real wise compromise. I think the 944 on the trailer with some track spares/supplies tools etc is prolly going to be marginal. Once I know for sure what the future road registration status will be for the 944 then I can work out what other car I'll need.Vik - I'm looking forward to being able to get the car out to Mallalla. What sort of events are you getting to out there ? ie club events ? tuning days ? I have been doing what they call drivers Ed out here - they are 8x25 minute sessions over two days controlled/restricted passing zones etc. Nice track though, its a 2.9mile 14 turn multi elevation course (Texas World Speedway). - As for the folding stuff, circumstances changed (a lot :( ) so the 944 is pretty much going to stay as it is with the possible exception of putting in a Haltech E6X.
February 13, 200422 yr #13 Mallala is ok depending on what club run you go on.There is so much BS that its not funny. The last club I went out with was the jag mobb, that was ok,go out do 5 laps then come in,go out again when you want. Was in ford owners club ,Mallala days changed to "Modern Regularity" which was crap timed stuff so even a bloke on a pushbike could competeThen thers Cams, now that's another story.Would be nice for us mobb to hire the track for a day, just need the numbers. The jag club stopped track time from 12 to 1 pm for lunch??????? do you beleve it.????????vik
February 14, 200422 yr #14 Vik I think the idea of 3 timed laps or whatever has got knobs on it, I'd much rather be out there puhing the car for 20-30 minutes at a time. I noticed at Waneroo that they do something like an all day tuning thing which looks like good value. Seriously considering moving there in several years time.Have you driven with the porsche club ? I know they do stuff at Mallalla, any idea of what they are like ? Here I drive in PCA and mixed events and they are both pretty similar (people wise) the PCA events are 85% Porsches but the non-PCA events are pretty cool also with a few porsches plus lots of vettes, some mustangs, vipers, plenty of beamers, and a bunch of hondas & nissans etc.
February 14, 200422 yr #15 Sell the 944 and buy a GT-P I say...Buy a GT-P ? - I almost missed that comment, no disrespect but I'm kind of partial to my 240rwkw 1350kg track reliable 944. It goes like a champion, stops like a champion and forgives all of my crappy driving skills  Plus I've busted so many knuckles getting to know every nook and cranny of the 944 ... its literally too much blood sweat and tears in her to let her go. Hence I'm going to dragg her half way around the world and keep on having fun.
February 14, 200422 yr #16 I should look into the porsches days I spose, got no idea what they do.It not timed and its 5 laps so all get a even go,these are folks off the street with street cars not boy racers with mods,so 5 laps is plenty, come in let it cool a bit ,then off again.Sounds your a bit more in to it,this is just social put put around a trackvik
