Low Oil Pressure Coming On Cluster

Hi I have a 2011 FG xr6 turbo with a few mods making 322rw/kw 2 day ago I gave it a hit of the light and low oil pressure come on the cluster and motor noisy could it be the oil pump.????????

Sound like it, but guessing only!

I was only just having a in depth conversation about this with my mechanic an hour ago.

Dumb question but have you checked your fluid level?

have checked oil level and is ok

As an ex Ford tech he had seen a tone modded cars with the failed oil pump gears in for warrant claims.

He couldn't understand while shops weren't advising customers of the potential failure.

One guy had spent $25,000 on built motor and still had Std oil pump gears.

The guy that owned that car was doing a burnout and lost oil pressure.

The car ended up at this work shop and when it was pulled down he confirm std oil gear failure!

Said he was gob smacked it didn't have billet gears.

They looked though all the customers receipt from work done to confirm he hadn't been ripped off, but found nothing in all the invoices.

they are known to produce false oil warnings. you need to get a pressure gauge on there and check what pressure its actually got.
