Torqueitup New Member 4 Member For: 13y 7m 27d Posted 09/03/15 03:07 AM Posted 09/03/15 03:07 AM Hi All,I am hoping tot get use this forum's infinite wisdom to diagnose a problem I have with my FG XR6T auto gb.When under acceleration with a fixed accelerator position (not necessarily WOT) in third or fourth gear the rpm increases, then temporarily drops off (approx 250rpm) then the rpm recovers and picks back up and accelerates through to the next gear change.I have attached a youtube clip here showing what it looks like. In the video I get to 3000rpm then it drops off down to 2750 then pick back up before the next change. please remember I am not varying the accelerator at all, my foot is perfectly still and is not adjusting the accelerator position.

Torqueitup New Member 4 Member For: 13y 7m 27d Posted 09/03/15 04:49 AM Author Posted 09/03/15 04:49 AM I can take the car out for a spin and get some more but they are going to look almost identical to this, as in the motor reaches a certain rpm then starts to decrease for a little bit then picks back up and continues to increase.It reminds me of driving a manual car and slipping the clutch but I have never driven any other auto that does this!

stretch4660 Member 122 Member For: 13y 8m 27d Posted 09/03/15 09:01 AM Posted 09/03/15 09:01 AM Could be any number of things mate, could be an ignition issue, eg, coils maybe starting to break down (I doubt this but wouldn't rule it out). Fuel issue, eg not getting fuel pressure for whatever reason around that RPM, could be a transmission issue, eg clutches in the auto slipping at this rpm, could be a valve timing issue, eg oil pressure not sufficient at this RPM to advance the cam timing to allow continued engine acceleration, could be an ECU problem, eg throttle position sensing issue or somethings similar.As you can see, any number of things.!Best thing to do would be to take it somewhere reputable and have them put it on the computer and see whats up with it
