Hey guys, currently I have a 2010 xr6 turbo fg and I was willing to know if it is possible to gut the factory muffler intake to get a louder spooling sound then average. Has anyone done this yet? And is it possible to actually do?

It will make more sound, but the gutted piece will become very inefficient. You want all you pipes to be smooth, with no bumps.

It is a pretty simple upgrade to replace it.

Just get an intake muffler delete pipe. They are in the buy and sell pretty often, I bought one from a guy on ford forums for about $100 bucks

When you mean inefficient, do you mean by looks or something else?

Aftermarket cold air intake with a pod filter makes a big difference as well, I fitted one this week in addition the the muffler delete pipe the spool sound is crazy loud now and you can hear it sucking in tonnes of air when you put your foot down even a little now. Something to look at if you want a bit more noise :)
