I Just Noticed My Rotors Are The Wrong Way Around

Featured Replies

I got DBA 4000 slotted rotors on the front, and I noticed they are the wrong way around today.

The slots are going against the pads rather than towards them..

I'll get my dealer to fix it up this week as it was their f*ckup, but I'm just wondering what damage could be done?

All I can think of is more pad wear...

Mechanics. Is there anything they can do right?

You would think they would have looked at the rotors and thought "geez, that one seems to have the grooves facing the wrong way"

Cro:

I reckon nothing will happen as the grooves only let gas out.

Your right! not all mechanics are idiots. Just the ones who put discs on backwards.....

I am sure you haven't done this!

BTW they are not as idiotic as some of the customers.....

No offence was meant to be intended.

But it is very frustrating when a simple mistake is made, and now Cro has to take his car back and get them to do the job again.

As you do, I work with mechanics all day. Ther are some extremely bright tech's who excel in diagnostics and breakdown knowledge.

However, like all trades and professions there are a few "bad apples" out there who make it look bad for all of us.

Please dont take offence, it was never intended, and I apologize if any was.

Does the way the slots are angled really make that much difference?

I have seen them installed both ways. In fact, my mates SS has them installed in the opposite direction to mine (and his were installed by the NSW HP).

Most race cars with slotted rotors have the slots in the opposite direction to my road discs.
