biggest difference performance wise between mk1 and mk2 is that the mk2 has a smaller intercooler with plastic end tanks.

  • Personally I Couldn't justify the extra 10k for essentially minor cosmetic mods

  • Nice Evil You've got 5 days to get it for the cruise Personally - I'd be looking for the MKII, solely for the updated ICC

  • I am pretty sure the plastic end tanks came with euro4 from about mid 2010 onwards. As did the restriction ring in dump pipe.

That was some MkI aswell! Started in mid 2010 with euro 4 emissions standards. So either way he wants 2010 on so he'll have plastic endtanks anyway

ah my bad. did they change the size of the intercooler as well in the 2010 mk1s? as the mk2 I bought had a tiny intercooler in comparison to my 2008 mk1 FG

Yes they are a few of them around the $35k mark, hence why I said in my original post that there are some good prices around.

Couple of decent 2011 Mk1's but they don't have premium sound, are a colour I am not interest in or are manual.

.......

For those of you that say the Mk2 front looks wrong, have a look at Fletty's Mk2 or get some new glasses :blum:

looks nice, like the mk2 front lights and bottom fog light area, still dont know why they made the airdam so busy lookin, that's the thing I dont like, pic above looks nice though :)

I assume its the same cooler from all euro 4's. Didn't realise it was smaller than euro 3's!

Yeah that's the only reason I didn't go mk2

That car does have a tough stance though!

Be careful of any brand new "super cheap" MK2s as they were most likely part of the hail damaged vehicles getting around

I think you are on the money. Went and had a look at a few Mk2's today and all Nov or Dec 2011 build and first registered to FMC in Feb 2012.

Dealer was oblivious to the situation when I questioned them. All seemed dodgy to me.

That's interesting as I bought mine from capalaba QLD, asked the dealer about the cheap MK2s & he was full open about it.
