Ford Flip Key - Transponder

Hi guys, I've got a flip key for the xr but the transponder from the flip key side is missing..therefore I can open the doors/ boot etc but cant start the car with the key. now I have managed to work out that the transponder chip id is : 4D-62. does anyone have a pic of the key open so I can see the chip to make sure its the right one before I go and buy the chip (might work out a lot cheaper then ford and even cheaper then ebay as well, here is the pic I have http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TRANSPONDER-CHIP-ID-4D-62-chip-Subaru-/261065462543?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item3cc8b6d30f.....thanks in advance

What type of car is it for BA of BF Falcon ?

Where did you buy the key from

It's to suit my bf, so it's the same key as the fg and territory ...got the key from a mate clearing out his up after selling his a few months back

1. Would it be possible to remove it from an original non flip key, or are they a different shape?

ive got two standard keys but to splice them open to check the chip is not really possible. once you cut a standard key open you can stick it back together, unlike the flip key which can be opened

If you have 2 keys already you should be able to reprogram the FG key to your car the transponders for all BA,BF,FG Falcons are the same you will just have to get a blank key replacement which I will get a part number for you. If you have 1 key only then it's a job for ford. Hopefully I have this helps you.

thanks FG_G6E, if you could locate a part number that will assist. I have managed to locate a pic of what the key head transponder looks like ( attached) To use the flip key you need the following transponder Ford BF: 4D62, but 4D60 is compatible. They are pretty cheap on ebay, so I have brought them to verify they work, which may save someone else a few bucks down the track instead of having to buy a whole new key Just for interests sake, here is the one I purchased http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170545209430?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649, I don't endorse them and wont know if it works until it arrives in 2 or so weeks time

You would have to buy a new key if people wanted a flip key setup then train the key to the vehicles BEM module. The part number for the key blank is BGF 22053 A and the remote BG 15K601 A. To replace the key itself I am looking for a part number still. All the key blanks come with the chips inside just need to be programmed to the vehicles BEM to start the car. So if u have 2 keys and the fg key is cut to your car you should be able to train the key your self to your car.
