Hey guys.

Just needed to vent some anger so I figured I may as well post up and see how all you guys went with simular problems/resolutions.

My XR6T has 7500Kms on it, and so far I have experianced:

* Rough Idle (ford claims they have re-calibrated the computer at 3k service)

* Exhaust sounds like its missing on idle

* Crunching in 5th gear at high revs

* Diff clunking when changing gears

* Clicking sound from my steering when turning the wheel

* Vibration when driving at 80Km +

Its funny how such an advanced car (compared to my 95 model XR8) has so many more problems then what my XR8 had at 156000 Kms. I think this is the LAST ford I ever buy, and frankly, I should have stuck to my initial idea of buying a Skyline GTR.

PS, doesnt help that last night I foolishly raced a GT-P and got CHOPPED :)

:innocent:

Anyhow, catch ya all later, sorry to b**ch to you all :)

hambo_12, all I can say, stay away from the Turbo, unless you want something that feels like a taxi with 300 000Kms on the clock !

I also forgot to mention the rattle in my dash.

Its sad to say, but im actually thinking of selling the car, and going back to my original plan of a skyline !

I dont know if I will change my mind on a coupple of bad stories, but why dont you put your foot down at the dealers and say you want it fixed now, otherwise you are going to Fomoco directly and talk to them? Surely there is a fix for these problems.

Your list sounds like number 1, 2, and 6 are all related, maybe more are too, have you seen the dealer, if so what did they say??

hahahahahaha funny you should say that fossil, I was actually thinking about the SS commodore. Im pretty sure though my next car wont be a ford. The car has been to ford already for rough idle, they tell me they resolved it by re-configuring the computer.....bullsh*t, I have the same problem. The diff, I can see where this is going to go, they will say its under specification.

Oh well, ill get the car in soon and let you boys (and gals) know how I go with it !

Your call Hambo, but I'd stick with the order.

I've had mine 6 months, 21000 on the clock and not a drama at all - either I'm incredibly lucky, or the more likely explanation is that those who are happy with their cars have no real reason to start a thread saying so, so you're left with the more negative experiences. That's life.

Xr6ism,sorry to hear your tale of woe There seems to be a few unhappy Ford customers recently and you have to wonder if Ford are pushing too hard to keep up with demand and cars are slipping thru quality control not right up to spec Keep sticking it to your dealer until your happy or maybe try another dealer Keep in mind they are a series 1 and new so called fixes are coming up all the time

I don't personally like too many Jappers but the R34GTR rocks and so it should for 100k

I thank you lord that I got a good one

im sticking with the order definately. The only reason we see so many threads with ppl complaining is, like you have said, there is no use posting if your car is fine, its only the dud ones. I will take my chances, but I wont be so light as a lot of ppl are on the dealers or Fomoco if there is a major prob with my car.

My mate got a turbo in the first few months they came out and the only prob he has is the brake shudder issue.

My verdict, it is only a small percentage of owners that have major problems, its still an awesome car, as any of the members not having probs will tell you....

oh yeah, and merry christmas to all, be happy, and be safe!

:santa2::hohoho: :festive:
