Ea Stolen - Mine!

ok...so I finish work last night and get home around 11 and walk inside...goto sleep and think nothing more of it.

The next morning I get up and check the forums...theyre down so I sit there and think...well...great..now my morning routines screwed! :)

So I decide to have bfast...shower...etc. I didnt have to start work until 4 this arvo so I sat there and watched Judge Judy and oprah/DrPhil . 3:30 hits and I get my stuff togather and head out the front door. Lock the door and flip the keys over to the car key and look up and the cars not there.....I look at my key...and look where the cars supposed to be......ahhhh crap!

So I stand there and think well what the f*ck do I do now...(bewildered that someone else has been in my car!)

So 1 go inside...pick up the phone and call Jarvis Ford and tell them to change my T order so it now includes the alarm :) atleast we've got that covered!

I then call the cops, fill out the report, mum and dad, sms friends, Gale at work to let her know I wont be in today. Lovely lady Gale..been at optus for like ever and prolly knows more about the place than management does! Anyways, phones ringin off the hook.

I was sooo damn annoyed but then thought that theres nothing theyre gunna take in the car except the stereo.

I then decided to go home to the farm and get another car to use until my T arrives and got a friend to drive me to the bus station so I could get home. When my friend rocks up, she says she saw a red car down the street that looks similar to mine...I go pffft...as if its mine...theres no way I'd be that lucky.

So we drive down there and theres the EA on the side of the curb with the doors open and 1/2 on the curb. I was so happy. I inspected the vehicle and found notihng majorly wrong with her... I was lucky that they only took my stereo.....they left the speakers and everytihng else in the car...including all the change in the centre console (enough to run the government in a 3rd owrld country at times)....kinda of like *gets in car...wallet is annoying legs so empties coins into console*...how silly are these thieves!!!! all my cds are still there...my mob phone charger....everything....all I had to do was put the stereo housing back in place into the console, get the RAA to give me a jump start and I was right.

Anyone who has had there car stolen will know the initial reaction you feel when u know your cars gone..its the worst! But its all ok now, I took her for a spin around town to charge the battery and gave her a nice wash to calm her down...we had a little discussion about what had happened...she said that they 'violated' her...I felt so bad for her so we had a little more of a chat and shes ok now......um....anyways.... :nyaah:

You are very lucky. That situation could have been a lot worse you know, got off very easy!

I have a mate in Canberra who had a cruddadore that got stolen, he found it later that afternoon down a ditch, burnt to a crisp! He just trned around and gave me the dirtiest look, and siad "Lets go to the pub", by the end of the night, he had his mind off it!

The moral of the story, drinking cures all problems... :nyaah:

Yeh, my cousin is still spewin about his XE ESP that got stolen 3 years ago.

Spent $50k on that beast, and no one would insure him...

At least you recovered your car....

When my Pulsar got stolen I had to wait 6 months to get a pay out.

6 months without a car, I lost my job because of it, but luckily got a better job in the City where I could cath a train in. Still had no life on weekends!! :(

voy74656,

Check the car for syringes.

Druggies steal cars and often leave their used picks where they will injure people. Some of them do it on purpose too. If you haven't found any by now, that probably isn't the case, but you don't want to reach under the seat for the Melways (or the SA equiv) in a month and find one then.

Don't wanna sound like a doom sayer, but people at work have had to have the blood test when recovering stolen cars because of needle stick injuries.

Good you got your car back though!

..needles...omg...I'll check that but that's pretty hardcore for adelaide!

Vik - beats me....but the way the RAA guys do it is with a screw driver, a piece of cloth and packing tape.

The main thing is that I got the car back without any damage...they just took the head unit....which is ok cause we've got a spare CD player at the farm. I'll go pick it up when I go home for chrissie.
