You run your aftermarket headunit on the AUX setting for the ICC. Everything still works on the ICC as normal with AUX displayed on the screen.

fit it up to the tissue box (fitting kits available)

use the Aux in of the head unit to feed the ICC sound to the HU if/when required

I'm confused. So does that mean using the AUX to feed the head unit, you can still use the ICC's radio (for example) and get sound? I thought the headunit would bypass everything.....

Using the ICC Audi out fed into the aux in of the aftermarket hu. U could still use the factory ICC if when required.

Steering wheel controls can be set up to control aftermarket hu. 2 company's make interface kits.

PAC audio. And cat10.

They take the wheel controls and control the aftermarket hu.

Sorry didn't read above post properly, IMO it is much easier just to install a stand alone aftermarket system in to the car rather than using the ICC.

so the ICC still turns on and all that, just has no volume basically?

I'm weighing up taking out the AMP and just running the type r's off the ICC, or putting in an aftermarket headunit. Still undecided. Ute is still at the panel beater being repaired after some bitch rammed the car behind me, and I was therefore hit after that. Damn annoying!

Basically yes the ICC works but with no volume.
