Hi Guys,

Recently became a proud owner of an 2010 FG F6 and I am fairly new to the turbo scene.

I have noticed that they no longer have the 'secondary' intake/snorkel at the bottom of the airbox like the BF Typhoons do.

My questions are:

- has anyone bolted the FG XR8 intake (which I understand has the 'secondary' intake) to an FG F6,

- was there any issues?

- Does it need a re-tune due to more air flowing through?

- was it worth it? I.e - did it make any difference

Any info/advice would be very much appreciated

Has been answered many times so I'll give you the quick run down.

- was it worth it? I.e - did it make any difference. For $100 I'd say yes, but only with a tune. On standard power it won't make much difference. With a tune it should be able to flow a bit more then the standard one. You can also just cut holes in the bottom of your standard one for the same effect.

Awesome another vixen f6!

The xr8 intake and k&n filter were the first nods to mine. I'd say a small difference but nothing hugely noticeable. Although I did seem to get a fair bit better fuel economy.

I went down to spare parts today and asked them about the XR8 intake and they said the XR8 didnt have the snorkel!

It seems as though the BF series were the last to have this (I may be wrong?) he also said the BF series has clips not screws for the airbox!

Where abouts did you get the XR8 lower assembly from?

They all have a snorkel what he is talking about it the secondary intake. Only B series F6's had these, we just cut a whole in there instead.

Called FTG Autosalavge this morning and they quoted me $185 for the air box & Snorkel (as it needs to be modified to fit the F6) - Picking it up this Saturday!

That's expensive, I bought mine for $100 then sold it for $150 with a K&N filter.

Where abouts did you get yours from?
