... so, I was the lead in the winning triples side on Saturday in the Robertson Potato Triples.

Strange place to post this (on a car forum) I know, but I just had to tell someone.

This is an annual event and is hotly contested by sides from all over the district. It's played over 3 weekends and culminated on Saturday in final.

First prise $2100 ... runners up $1350. Photos in the local paper, etc., etc.

This is quite an old comp ... been going on for years, which is part of the reason it's so popular and highly-contested.

In years gone by, the participants were always awarded a hessian bag of locally grown potatoes as part of the reward for playing. To this day, we still receive a (somewhat smaller) bag of spuds.

... hence the name, Potato Triples.

It's interesting that since I've bought the T, everybody at the club wants to play in my team ... I thought it was cause I was such a nice guy and a hellofa player, but now I'm starting to think they have other motivations. :o
