I know these have a driveline clunk but I've never been in another one to hear what it is exactly. Mine almost since I drove it off the dealership has had a clunk whenever you release the clutch whether you're cruising or giving it some, more pronounced 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd..took it to Sunshine and they reckon they all do it..just wanted to make sure. The bloke from Bryan Bryt said it doesn't sound normal for it to happen through the gears like that.

Hey Mate,

Mine doesn't happen all the time through the gears.. But it does do it a fair bit.. The most pronounced clunks are taking off and 1st to 2nd. I generally find that if I get the perfect balance of clutch and throttle on the shift it doesn't make the noise at all.. So I used it as an indicator of how well I'm driving.

Check your diff bush.. If it's fine and it's under warranty just bug the living sh*t out of the dealer until they do something.

Sweet thanks mate, at least I know the dealer isn't bullsh*tting me. Guess it's just a characteristic of the car even if it is a little embarrassing on a car with just 1800km on it.

When I first heard it in mine I thought the spare had come loose or something and was banging around.. But nope.. Yeah you're right though.. It was embarassing taking a few mates for a spin in your new car and shift gears *CLUNK*..

I get the same thing too man.

I find that higher revs when changing really helps.

I also found out (when I questioned the dealer as to why the clunking happens) that is be because the box installed is out of some kind of light transit truck - loud as hell but near unbreakable.

That info helped me a bit too knowing that its just tuff.

To sum it up - You don't have a lemon.
