averaging 14.9L/100ks, according to the car. Mainly city driving, gets lower if I go for a longer trip on the freeway. Usually give it heaps from the lights/standing start (if I get a clear run)

I drive from Fairfield to Pennant Hills (can get busy and plenty of starting/stopping) every day for work, and I average pretty much exactly 14L/100kms.

I have noticed though, that if I take it for a longer drive with not as many stops, the fuel consumption can vary between 12-14L/100kms. That is normal driving though with the odd squirt of the right foot. Of course, if I'm giving it a bit, no problem at all reaching 15-16L/100kms.

On freeway driving, I average just over 10L/100kms.

I have actually recorded the kilometres travelled and how much fuel I put in. I have found that the trip computer always reports 0.5L/100kms higher than the real value.

I’m just interested. I don’t mind spending some $$ of fuel just within reason. I know some V8’s absolutely eat the fuel and wanted to know how a T6 is compared in city drivin. (obviously when you floor it will use more being a turbo)

>Are you intending to buy a boost control (like jap cars) to save fuel only?

Hell no. Just wanted to know if it impacted the car much. Also want the ability to boost up to 8-9 ponds

The fuel consumption is academic after purchase. Worry about deprecation mate.

The fuel is the least expensive part of ownership.............

I have an auto and recently got 9.7 L/100 during a law abiding but boring trip from Toowoomba to the Gold Coast, went to 10.3 L/100 driving down the Pacific Highway to Coffs Harbour.

Normal usage is mid 12's to low 13's - mixed highway & regional city traffic.

Oi all,

Some of you lot must be caning the crap out of your T's. I don't drive too gently. and I'm getting about 14 litres per 100km around town (Canberra) and something around 11 litres per 100km on a trip (cruising at around 110kph). My old AU ute was better on a trip at about 9.5l/100km, but worse around town at about 15l/100km. S'pose I don't hafta drive the turbo so hard to beat the japcrap.....

Ciao

I get about 16.2L/100km with an extremely heavy right foot with 99% city driving.

How anyone can drive a car like this without a heavy right foot beats me. Kinda defeats the purpose of having such a powerful car.

There is a big difference between the manual and auto if you drive for economy. The manual will give good economy on 80kph plus roads, down to single figures, but the auto will not get better than about 12s because the torque convertor is set-up to flare to 2000 rpm at the slightest hint of throttle.

Hi

Thought I'd post what my NA BA Fairmont SSS does as a comparison

Not as much grunt agreed, but didn't think it would be much better than 10% better than a T

Anyway, on first trip to Adelaide from Melb on straight flat roads, the computer said:

100kmh - 8l/100km

110kmh - 9/100km

120kmh - 10/100km

You get the trend. Total trip including a few blasts was 9.7 for the 900 odd km. 9.7 on the way back - family of 4 with luggage and 1500k's on the clock

Around town 13-14, giving it a squirt as one does

But by the sounds of you guys numbers, the bigger injectors/lower gearing make a bigger impact than I'd expected. (I still want one - when I get sacked I will too)

Cheers

Havent re-set the computer for 4 months now and averaging 13.5 in an auto (stock). This includes mixed driving and some fun but I'm not thrashing the nuts off of it at every opportunity. Also occassional use of std ULP.

For those with chipped computers, what do you get for comparison (or is that a stupid question)? Some of the "chippers" say that fuel economy is improved as the mixture is leaned off - comments?

I ran my car in pretty hard.

I drive at full throttle much of the time in the city so it will tend to be on the high side compared to normal.

Initially I got 31L/100km but its around 22 now.

However that's driving damn hard. On the highway it never ceases to blow me away. I get around 8-9L/100km when cruising at 100-110, which is outstanding for a large car that has a sports edge to it.

I imagine your travel to work includes lots of highway speeds? If so, its pretty damn economical.
