Btr Build In Sydney

Hey guys just after new years I will be looking at getting my BTR 4spd rebuilt to handle more power, can anyone recommend any places in sydney that can strengthen up a BTR with a few prices?

A guy at work got one built at Northmead Automatics, he said they were very reasonable, but he was only chasing 280rwkw.

Mate go to Norm at Northmead Autos as stated above. I called dominellos once and he tried to flog me a box for $ 4,500 as well, not fitted. I think he is using solid gold planetaries in the boxes.lol. You get one year warranty then after that you're back where you started. For that kind of dollars mate I'd be looking at a Turbo 400 or C4.

I got my box done at dominellos,I paid 4500 for it,the box is rated to 450kw at the wheels,I installed it last week an been just running the box in here an there around the area,all I can say is,its a good box shifts so hard,the new stallie is great aswell.

Was the box on exchange basis?

Just keep in mind that with any BTR they are not bullet proof and no matter what anyone tries to tell you or sell you, there are not many aftermarket performance parts to fit in these. The general "BTR built box" consists of an AU oil pump, modified valve bodies, extra clutch plates, upgraded bands and OEM planetaries. This rebuild should not go over 3k max. Don't forget to retune after mate because if your tuner lifted the line pressures on your standard box this will most likely need to be lowered again to suit the higher pressures that the modified box will now be running. Just have your tuner check it and make sure the box isn't shifting too hard because this will then place unecessary load on the boxes components.

BTW EVO Automatics in Melbourne had built boxes with a stally going for 3k. I have spoken to them and they are very helpful and informative. They rate their boxes to 380rkw. You can have the box freighted up for about $150. There was an add in the classifieds.

na man,I just gave him mine the one I blowed up,believe me he builds the btr real strong,you just gotta look at intune motorsports ute his got dominellos box in there an he is running 500kw .
