Why wouldn't you be able to rev it in neutral? I mean, its like having it in neutral in a manual, or having the clutch pushed in.

only reason I can think of is they don't want you revving to 5k then dropping it in D .

That's right Paul. I'm pretty sure you can only rev them right up in "Park".
