Hi Everyone

Thinking about getting an electric sunroof fitted to my g6et ,not sure what brands and types that are available,and was wondering if people out there,that have done it,could suggest types and as I live on the Central Coast NSW ,good installers in Sydney or Newcastle .and a rough price guide .

Hi got a mate whos buying a g6e turbo he wants to put a sun roof aswell but his not sure if it effects new car warranty and insurance do you know if it does?? I cant see how.

The only warranty item it would affect is if the lining fell out. They can't cancel your entire warranty for an aftermarket modification, only parts that are directly affected by it.

As for insurance you'd have to double-check with the installer/insurer. The reason why they are no longer factory-fitted is supposedly because of the struts in the roof or something, although there are plenty of FG owners that have done it.

Prestige Sunroofs at taren point do them ,same one they fit to new cars, yes they to cut the roof struts , but they fit a

frame around the sunroof ,is covered by warranty ,they have two styles make sure you check them out ,I like the one which

has two openings ,you can tilt one or two,looks good ,and start from $2400.00 - $2700.00,I would certainly get one in a FG.

My last 2 cars had sunroofs and it's about the only thing I miss having the typhoon

I agree, I won't buy a car in the future if it doesn't have a sunroof - use it every time I drive either just tilt for fresh air/light up the dark cabin, or on a nice day its fully open and makes the car feel a little more upmarket - (even if ordinary quality) leather and a sunroof really improve the interior in Ts IMO
