Upgrading Fg Xr6 Na Brakes

Hi Guys,

Yep I got a stock FG XR6 NA which comes with the smaller brakes. I’m not intending to do any track work but I find the existing brakes very underperforming for spirited driving of any kind and they simply do not inspire any confidence to push the car at all.

I was thinking of upgrading the brakes to the standard turbo brakes but I’m a bit confused with the available options as the BA/BF/FG models seem to have slightly different sizes when it comes to front and back callipers and rotors.

What I want is something that will bolt on with my existing 17inch wheels, look “stock”, and perform well for the street without spending an arm and a leg for Brembo setups and the like …

What would you guys recommend? Should I only be doing fronts or the back as well? Which models should I go for? And lastly where is a good place to obtain the kits?

I'd suggest going some DBA 4000's with some performance pads and brake fluid. This will be plenty good enough for the street and reduce fade by leaps and bounds. No need to do rears.
