September 30, 201016 yr #1 Hi guys, I've been looking through this forum for the last month or so and have found it a great read, it's been very helpful.I have an 05 BA F6 and was just wondering about the wheels. I've been told there are differences between the front and rear stock rims that are currently on the car and they cant be rotated front to back. If im going to go out and get a new set of wheels do I need to worry about this? Will I need to make sure that any new rims are the same spec (offsets etc) as the stock rims and if so, what exactly do I need to know when ordering the new ones?Any feedback would be much appreciated,Cheers.
September 30, 201016 yr #2 Offsets on rear are further out to clear brembos...You can take a wheel off and look on the inside to see If they are different offset... Fronts are +35 and rear +28 if you have the staggered set...If you do, you just need to test wheels before you put them on...
October 1, 201016 yr #3 There are two points to consider:the type of brakes on the carthe offsetWith respect to brakes, the vast majority BA F6's had the FPV standard brakes. These brakes can be identified by blue calipers front and rear, and (if the car is still running factory discs) the fact that the discs have a double intersecting circular slot. These brakes will fit any BA 17" (XR) series wheel.Similarly, if you have the standard blue BA FPV brakes, any BA 17" wheel will be fine for offset. In fact with the exception of the short lived BA F6 wheels with staggered offsets, all other BA and BF series wheels are +35mm.If you have the BA F6 Brembo options for the FPV then I believe you will need the FPV 18" wheels. I have however no idea whether the staggered offsets are necessary for that setup.Regards,aa
