Checked the oil that I removed and there were no pieces so I can only assume that they are still in there waiting to get caught in valves or cams or something. I remember seeing a thread about this a long time ago, but can't locate it. Has anyone else had this and what did you/Ford do about it?? (I think its important to have the right oil specs printed on it). Spare parts ordered another one.... AND charged us for it (the excuse was "we dont know about warranty") and it was the same damn cap, JEEZ whats next Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/6983-engine-oil-filler-cap/#findComment-58638 Share on other sites

Wish I did! All I know is that we sell a sh!tload of them. I personally recommend everybody check theirs regulary for fine hairline cracks, and as soon as you see some, replace it straight away. Maybe the plastic cap cant handle the heat of the rocker cover or something? When they took the lid off, it was still sitting in the head. At my insistence, they showed it to me upon my return to collect the car. The new cap looks like one off an AU or something, slightly greyer in colour. I dont care, jus tas long as this one doesn't do the same thing. :banghead: Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/6983-engine-oil-filler-cap/#findComment-60973 Share on other sites
