clear has very little uv resistance-pigment is what offers that and clears have 0 pigment

That clear coat sh*t never works long term, whether it be on rims or paint.The japs used to put it on the outside of their bike forks and it always used to end with the same damage as your rims. One miniscule chip and off goes the corrosion. The moisture can get in but not back out.

Get that rubbish polished off and then use some metal polish wadding from Supercheap (<$10 per tin) to maintain the shine.

I use it on some FR17 Simmons I have and it is brilliant stuff.

What about anodising them a specific colour? Saw a bike frame with it once and it looked BRILLIANT.
