Apple Iphone On Hands-Free

I've tried to search around to see if anyone has had the same problem, but I wasn't able to find anything similar, so here goes...

My Apple iPhone connects via the Bluetooth in my car without a problem, and although I can hear the other person on the line quite clearly, they cannot hear me at all. Is there a way to turn the microphone volume up, or am I missing something?

Also, does it make a difference if the phone is connected to the power in the centre console when I'm trying to use the hands-free?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like either your not using the bluetooth or there is a problem with the car?

Have you tried it with a different phone?

It says it's using the Bluetooth, but maybe it's operator error.

I've only had the car for two days, so I haven't had a chance to try using a different phone.

Should the phone work straight away after pairing it with the car, or is there something else to do before-hand?

There are MANY known issues with iPhones and Bluetooth.

You need to get the latest BIM update done by the dealer. This will update the Bluetooth module in the car.

If you plan to use an ipod as well, get the AIM update that will update the ipod interface as well.

The dealer should have done this on pre delivery, but never seem to

Should work perfect after pairing with the car, not sure about why its quiet though.

Only thing I can think is that it might be just using the AUX/iPod not the bluetooth. If the phone number is up on the screen and the button on the steering wheel answers then its definitely bluetooth.

Mine seems to work fine, no complaints. Iphone 3G. What is yours?

Is there any chance your talking too quiet or the windows are open or somethin?

FYI the volume on the iphone is adjustable during bluetooth but this will vary how loud it is in your car, not the opposite.

Maybe I haven't played with it enough yet, but it is showing the number on the screen and using the button on the wheel, so it must be utilising the Bluetooth.

I haven't had the windows down much (new car: don't want dust inside [the paranoia begins - ha-ha!]), but it appears that the only microphone picking-up sound is the microphone in the phone itself - but nothing in the car.

Well that is strange, the falcon microphone is up on the roof, near the interior lights. Although not sure if its the front or centre set, call yourself and give it a try.

Mate done use the Ipod connection while hooked up to Blue tooth cause they dont get on well is my experience. I have a Nokia phone as well for work which is hooked upto the Bluetooth, not my Iphone3G. I get the complaint all the time that people cant hear me properly. Spoke to a car kit installer and he said they are sh*t bluetooth systems same as commos and camerys apparently. When mine is hooked up and I listening to music and try to connect it I get a bad hissing sound come from it and I have to turn the car off, not just the radio to get rid of it.. Not sure which is to blame for it.

So, after giving it another go today, it worked beautifully! So, I don't know whether it's an on and off thing or whether I was doing something wrong previously. Either way, it seems to be working well now, so that's enough for me.
