My cat was playing with a bird tonight on the grass so I decided to rescue it and have brought it inside. I believe it's a red browed finch and it looks to be about a month old 'cause he can fly however he doesn't make much noise.

I'm not sure what to do with him - we've put him under a dome mesh thing onto a towel and have put a bowl of water in there with a slice of apple, which he didn't really take much notice of. I own two cats so keeping him may not be the best of ideas and I have read they are mainly kept as an aviary bird.

So if any of you guys are avid bird people, you can send me a PM and come and pick him up. Until then, I need some help working out what's best to feed him with. Any ideas?

Fluffy, not all birds enjoy eating a worm :sleepystuff:

How badly injured is it?

If it's young, you may need to feed it with a syringe with a bit of honey in to, getting water into him is probably more important though, use the same method, but if it starts fretting, stop and try again after if calms down. Birds don't have a diaphragm, so when holding him, be careful not to squeeze his chest too hard cos he can only breath with his rib cage.
