Problem After A Custom Tune

Hay guys just had my F6 tuned it made 350 rwkw. but its got a small problem its got a zf 6 speed auto if I nail it & as it goes to change into second it seems pull back slightly & then it engages second gear & its off like a rocket.I cant hear it flairing & it wheel spins second gear with ease but the gear changes dont feel a sharp even in the lower rev range. Any ideas would be good to pass onto my tunner,THANK YOU BB.

your tuner should be able to see whats up with it as soon as you take it back.

it may just need to be softend up in the tune

get a better tuner who knows how to tune the car and an auto.

unlike AVO who dont use ANY torque reduction and dont know how to bring on boost and when to take it off.

I don’t think anyone has full control over the zf so can rule the gearbox out. If it wasn’t tuned right then the zf may be limiting torque during shifts to try and save itself/driveline.

As *Beep* said the tuner will be able to change how quick and when boost is delivered in between the shifts.

If you ask them to soften the shifts the zf may be able to shift better but you might have a slower car.

It’s just about finding a balance.

Hi guys the gear changes do feel soft & slow even at around 10 psi of boost & that's what a stock bf f6 makes & it still does the same thing.Can oil presure be raised at all,My tunner said it can't but I am sure I read somewhere it can. How can I tell if the torque reduction has been set.

you cant. The tuner can...well that's if he knows what he is doing.

I've been told that the tuning software for the zf auto is out. A couple of vic tuner have it. I will be ringing up soon to comfirm this.
