I do not mean to be patronizing and I am not but, Europe car of the year means nothing when you look at the Australian conditions as we are so very different.

Europe and America may well have sold heaps of these cars but they are simply built for European conditions and they seem to have a likening to 2.0l engines.

Not to say Ford have not made changes but when you consider that for instance the majority of the Falcon is designed, tested and built for our conditions, well the answer comes fairly easy to me. Buy the Falcon XR6 Turbo! If you choose to but the car, post some pics.

I think the Focus that is coming out in March is the ST170.. has approx 128kw and 6 speed manual.. should be alright however I really would prefer a RS!!

A Focus and an XR6T are miles apart - what exactly are you looking for in a car?

Having driven a focus for about 15000 km (work drive car) .They are brillant go hard and can just stick to the road like chewy. If you drive a gutless Focus, there is a fix to make them go harder,the early ones deeded it. The Zetec does go harder

Yes tthe ST170 is due for release around March , no news on the rest of them

I wouldnt mind buying a focus for the wife and one of the XR6 Turbo's for myself. Might have to go visit a dealer on the weekend.
