Engine Temps

Mrs and I went for a drive last wednesday from Canberra to Cooma ( NSW ) in the T to see some friends.

On the way back to Canberra I took some Temp Readings using my LapTop and an ELM 327 Blue Tooth sender unit plugged in to the OBD port of the car.

When driving at 100 Kmh with Aircon on the radings are:

Water Temp 90C +- Running a 82C Thermostat.

Oil Temp 80C -85C. With Engine Oil Cooler fitted. This reading was taken from Gauge fitted to Car !

Air Temp inside Intake Manifold 40C going up to 50C when accelerating.

Outsite temp at the time would have been about 35C +-

The Temp I was really interested in was the Air Temp in the Intake Manifold. Is 40C high or is it normal.

Nice info, Where did you get the sender? And how much was it if you don't mind my asking?

Had a quick look on the net and from what I can see they are bout $70, that sound right?

Also the device reads fault codes to doesnt it?

Seems like a handy little device to have in my toolbox. :spit:
