Guys,

I have a few paint chips on my car, not a great deal but they are bugging me now. I have one on the bonnet and a few on the edges of doors etc.

Now I have had some experiance spray painting and touching up a Ford xD I restored a few years back. My turbo is Rapid yellow and wondering if people have tried touching up this colour paint them self and how hard it was to blend it.

I think its a flat paint doesn't appear to have any metalic flec in it.

If I decide its like to much work, what good places are around Melbourne that can fix these little paint chips?

Any suggestion would be great.

Also any suggestions on pulling out a door dint with no paint damage, any special tools you can buy or is it only the pros that have these tools?

hmm not sure on any good places in melb to get paint fixed, I had the same prob, but I just touched up with paint touch up, let it dry, wet sanded smooth as I had the touch up paint higher than the surrounding paint. then buffed it.lol. not sure if this is the correct method, an expert will advice you, but worked for me.hahah

But you must go to a pro to get that dent pulled out, do not try it yourself. just google paintless dent removal and ring a few places. about 50 bucks a dent from memory, depending where it is and what type of dent. they can come to you at work/home or you can go to them. and I have seen some good work done by these guys.

well the car was a really dark blue, so it came up pretty good being so dark and the touch up had the metalic flake in it and all. and car detailing is a bit of a hobby of mine, so I knew wot I was doin in that sense.

it wouldnt hurt to pop into a panel shop anyway and see what they say, if u dont want a repray then they will prob do the same thing as I did. good luck anyway.post back as to what you get done as im sure others will have the same prob.

Ok so DIY stone chips can work, I did most of the ones I had and some came up better than others. I also found that factory paint is very thin so don't cut and polish too much. I decided I will still get them done by a professional as I am a perfectionist and if prefer them not to be visible at all.

Anyone have recommendations for panel shops that fix these chips?

Thanks
