hi everyone, I got some issues with my btr 4 spd transmission it has lost 3rd an 4th gear, I was just wondering if anyone would know what it would cost to get it rebuild an strenghend, I would like it to handle aprox [email protected] will be pulling the gearbox out with a mate aswell so if anyones nows whos the person to see around sydney for these boxes please let me know thanks.

yea your right about that mate he gave me a quote 4000 dollars an the box will handle 500 plus kw, I was really hopeing to jus spent like 2 an a half thousand dollars but I guess in the long run its jus better to spend that extra cash an hav a very strong box from dominello.

Try Serg at CAT (central automotive transmissions) They do upgraded boxes mine was just done more round your budget, bigger better clutch packs, au pump and valve body, adapt yr converter to suit. They are around mascot let me know if cant find them I will give you contact details, they have been there for 25yrs..

yeah mate, dear as poison but worth it. you'll probably even get a 1 yr warranty if you get a btr built for 500fwkw. I must admit that theres guys running aroung with 350rwkws with $2500 rebuilds and are having no problems, but id still go with dominellos if the dollars are there. was it $4000 with you doing the r & r ?

there is also more than a few cars that have rebuilds fail also. Dominellos will at least warranty their work. What price peace of mind ?

hey guys yea its 4000 bucks that's me pulling the box out an given it to him, an also guys I span out on this but he said to me that this box will handle 500 plus at the wheels with a years waranty ,I gotta say he is pretty confident with these boxes handling that much power, he also said that he has made some new parts for these boxes jus recently which helps to handle the power, he sounds like a great bloke he invited me to come past his shop an take me for a rap in a xr6 turbo with the btr 4 speed that runs the quarter mile in 10 second passes I said no dramas im there,it looks like il jus save my cash a bit more an go for this box he has to offer.Thanks for your replys an help guys.
